Western Kentucky University Housing & Residence Life is hiring an Assistant Director for Student Behavior and Conduct. This role is primarily responsible for providing leadership in areas related to student behavior and specifically student conduct for the residential system. Additionally, the AD assists in the overall leadership of a comprehensive 5,500 bed housing program and directly supervises two full-time professional staff who oversee the daily operation of the residence halls. Catherine-Ann LaRoche, Ed.D., Assistant Vice President for Student Engagement and Executive Director for Housing & Residence Life?won the Association of Intermountain Housing Officers Outstanding?(AIMHO) Service Award?at their?Annual Conference?hosted in Albuquerque, New Mexico, held November 12-14, 2024. The conference was AIMHO's 70th annual conference event.?AIMHO?is?a regional affiliate of the?Association of College and University Housing Officers-International (ACUHO-I). The Outstanding Service Award is designed to recognize years of service,?dedication?and significant contributions to students in the residence halls and the residential community. All staff levels (custodial, clerical, professional, etc.) were?considered.? Prior to arriving at Western Kentucky University?in July 2023, Dr. LaRoche served as the?Assistant Dean of Students at Arizona State University.?She?has?served in various leadership roles in AIMO, including President, President-Elect, and Past President.? Western Kentucky University Housing & Residence Life received the first place ACUHO-I Marketing Award for Best Poster during the annual ACUHO-I Business Operations Conference, hosted on October 28-31, 2024 in Bethesda, Maryland. The poster, designed by Katie Corbin, Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications for WKU Housing & Residence Life, highlighted the “South Lawn Til Dawn” event that took place on October 26, 2023 on WKU’s campus. The event featured lawn games, recreational sports, fire pits and s’mores, competitions, prizes, stand-up comedy, and the opportunity to camp outside in a tent on the University’s South Lawn. The event was a collaboration between the departments of Housing and Residence Life and Campus Recreation and Wellness. Katie Corbin received her BFA in Graphic Design from Western Kentucky University in 2009. The ACUHO-I Marketing Awards recognize the creative and vital work done to communicate campus housing programs and initiatives. Established in 2016, these awards acknowledge all ACUHO-I members and their departments for their accomplishments and creativity.
