How I got my biggest job of 2024 through referrals from WithOnyeka's Community! WO Community (86 websites developed, marketing & business growth support for businesses in 15+ countries by my agency — TES Digital Business Solutions - yeah, it's been a wild ride! ??) ? Just like me, I know several people have benefited from WO Community by Onyeka Akumah, Founder of Treepz, and I want to say a big thank you to everyone in that amazing community. Honestly, that space has been a game-changer for me, and it wouldn’t feel right continuing with 2025 without appreciating some key people there and everyone who’s supported me. ?? ? Here’s a quick story I hope inspires someone: A few years back, I worked with one of Microsoft’s top staffs at that time Tosin S. (Developed 3 full websites for him - end-to-end). What came next was beyond my imagination—referrals to some incredible founders in tech. These referrals have literally been the fuel behind my business growth. One of those founders was Michelle Raymond, who’s behind the Diverse Business Summit, London. Working with Michelle Raymond has been such a blessing. She referred me to several international clients, including Ifeanyi Abraham, Dubai, Founder of TechsomaAfrica, Techsoma Canada, TechsomaME, FindExperts and FindBlackExperts. After working on the above mentioned projects and more for Ifeanyi Abraham, he introduced me to even more amazing clients—including Onyeka Akumah. This chain of connections by referral has truly been incredible - some paid jobs, and some free jobs that ended up paying back with referrals that got in more and better paid jobs. ? Now, let me talk about Onyeka Akumah for a second! After working on 3 websites for him, he really took the referrals to another level ??. Towards the end of 2024, the number of clients that came through him was unbelievable. One of those referrals was the founder of a fintech company in Canada, which ended up being one of my biggest project of the year. Guess what? The client loved our work so much that he offered me a partnership deal on December 31st, 2024. I can’t even begin to express my gratitude - Onyeka Akumah, Ifeanyi Abraham, Tosin S., Michelle Raymond, and every single person at the WO Community, you’ve been a massive part of my growth from last year. Thank you so much, and may 2025 be even greater for all of us. Once again, compliments. ? -?- - - - - - - - - - - ? Key Lessons for Freelancers (from my journey): - Some strategic free jobs can open doors to quality clients and long-term opportunities. - Delivering exceptional work for clients often leads to referrals—and I feel some referrals work better and faster than ads! - Always focus on quality. Happy clients are your best marketers! A little about me, and how I can help your startup grow (See comment section).
