Last month, our incredible community gathered in Orange County, CA to celebrate the premiere of our newest documentary, Her | Soil, at our 11th Annual Film Gala. The result? An overwhelming surge of generosity. Our local changemakers joined hands and raised a record-breaking $292,000+, making it our most impactful event in our entire history! ?? This wave of support is already at work, bringing #CleanWater and #RegenerativeAgriculture solutions to 40,000 more people across East Africa. ???? It will be felt in every drop of water, every meal shared, every tree planted, and every new path to empowerment. This weekend I was reminded of the privilege we all live with and how it manifests in something as simple as access to clean water. 400 million people live without access to clean water in Sub-Saharan Africa. Women and young girls spend 40 billion hours walking for water each year just for a chance to survive. So to see organizations like With My Own Two Hands Foundation step up to raise money and awareness was energizing and inspiring to experience. Founded by Lindsey Pluimer and co-led by executive director Sara Myers, MA, LMFT, With My Own Two Hands is in their 11th year raising money for African communities in need. They’ve impacted well over 148,000 lives with their clean water and sustainable agriculture programs and aren't stopping anytime soon! It’s no wonder Stan Verrett of ESPN, a college football broadcasting icon, clears his Saturday evening to host this special evening. He did crack a few jokes about being away from college football Saturday but not once did I see him look at his phone to check scores ??
