The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), drafted by the National Partnership and signed into law by President Clinton, has been the law of the land for 32 years now! The FMLA has been used over 500 million times, providing workers with the time they need to take care of themselves and their families without risking their jobs. While we celebrate the progress that the FMLA brought along, we’re also acknowledging the people it still leaves out. 14 states have stepped up with paid leave laws in place. 37 states have not – and many of them lack other family-friendly policies: https://lnkd.in/gcyNBqzX

Governor Bob Ferguson has taken a critical step to protect children at risk of family separation due to immigration enforcement. With Executive Order 25-04, a new DCYF-led task force will focus on ensuring kids have the support they need when their parents or caregivers face detention or deportation. WA Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) Secretary Tana Senn reaffirmed the agency’s commitment: “Every child deserves stability, safety, and support—no matter their family’s immigration status.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/geJ5-Kfp #FamilyUnity #WithinReachWA #DCYF #ImmigrationReform #WashingtonState ??: Photo courtesy of DCYF
