On 20 November 2024, the Legislative Council passed the Advance Decision on Life-sustaining Treatment Ordinance. The Ordinance provides more clarity to the types of situations when cessation of treatment is justified, specifies protection for the treatment providers, and the use of advance medical directives (“AMDs”) and do-not-attempt-cardiopulmonary resuscitation orders (“DNACPR Orders”).
