关于我们
Alma is on a mission to simplify access to high-quality, affordable mental health care. We do this by making it easy and financially rewarding for therapists to accept insurance and offer in-network care. When a provider joins Alma, they gain access to a suite of tools that not only help them better run their business, but also grow it sustainably and develop as a provider. Alma is available in all 50 states, with over 8,000 therapists in our growing network. Anyone looking for a therapist can browse Alma’s free directory. Alma has raised $220.5M in funding from Insight Partners, Optum Ventures, Tusk Venture Partners, Primary Venture Partners, Sound Ventures, BoxGroup, Cigna Ventures, and Rainfall Ventures. Alma was also named one of Inc’s Best Workplaces in 2022.

Attachment styles describe the ways in which our earliest relationships, especially with our caregivers, have shaped the patterns we may experience in our close relationships later in life. If you’re looking for resources about attachment styles, including how we develop styles and how we might unlearn them, visit the Alma blog here:

One of the best ways to get the most out of your therapy experience is to discuss your experience… with your therapist. It can feel uncomfortable and even a little mortifying to open up about what’s working and what isn’t. That’s totally understandable — but your therapist isn’t a mind reader! By practicing advocating for yourself and naming what you need, you develop direct communication skills that will support not only the relationship you have with your therapist, but the relationships you have elsewhere, too. Not sure where to start? We’re offering up some scripts for you to tweak and try, with the hopes that this gives you and your therapist a strong starting point. Want more guidance around why therapy isn’t helping? Check out the blog post linked below for some of the common reasons why therapy doesn’t work and what to do should you encounter them.

While "neurodiversity" has become a more popular phrase in recent years, it hasn’t necessarily made it easier to find a therapist who gets it. In fact, words like “neurodiversity,” “neurodivergent,” and “neuro-affirming” are frequently mixed up in the mainstream, despite not being synonyms. These misconceptions are pervasive, even in the therapy world! ??? What may seem like a small error reveals a bigger misunderstanding — and it makes it harder for neurodivergent folks to figure out who will understand the nuances of their experience.? In a world that so often ostracizes neurodivergent people, the last thing you need is a therapist who does the same. ?? If you’re looking for a therapist who (actually) understands the neurodiversity paradigm, or you’re just curious to learn more, the Alma blog has everything you need to know, from vocab lessons to affirming care checklists.

In fact, if you have health insurance, you can probably use it to find an affordable therapist — or even, free therapy."
