We recently had the privilege of hosting a great group of students from the University of Florida Ad Society UF Advertising Society (which also happens to be our co-founder Jamie Sims’ alma mater). We showed them around and gave them a taste of life at WITH—but the day wasn’t just a learning opportunity for them. We invited them to participate in a quick-fire brainstorm, during which they shared a juicy insight: Diet Coke has regained its cool factor with Gen Z. One of the students summarized it nicely: “My roommate loves to put on Lana Del Rey, open her Diet Coke, and have a moment.†And the numbers back it up. Gen Z’s diet soft drink consumption is on the rise, driven by a mix of nostalgia, brand love, self-care, and a quest to redefine and take ownership of what “cool†looks like. The day was a great reminder for us that staying relevant means staying curious. The best ideas don’t come from experience alone—they come from fresh perspectives, open conversations, and a willingness to see things in a new light. Big thanks to these students for bringing their energy and insights to WITH!
