I was at Abu Dhabi representing Mongabay India, Mongabay, at the Forum for Good conference organised by Indiaspora. I had the honour of being selected as a "New Voice" - and after meeting the diversity of people under the "New Voices" banner at the conference, I was feeling both happiness and a certain responsibility to do better! The amount of passion, energy and a sincere desire to do some good was amazing to see (and feel). I chaired a short panel discussion with: Animikh Roy (Wishtales AI, an AI based multimodal storytelling platform) Ashwin Ramaswami (co-founder of Corridor; and also ran for office from the small town he grew up in) Leyya Sattar (founded Other Box, which works on building a more inclusive work culture) and Utkarsh Saxena (founder of Adalat AI, which works to use AI at courts to tackle widespread backlogs and delays). It was an exciting discussion in Q and A format, where we discussed origin stories (because each superhero has an origin story!), the kind of impact they have been having and also a short rapid fire session. The post-panel discussion was also interactive and the whole event had a great vibe! For S. Gopikrishna Warrier and myself, the conference as a whole was a first of its kind event. We usually attend events of a particular kind: development orgs, academic gatherings, thinktank moderated events.. This, was a very broadbased conference and it was a challenge to navigate new waters and introduce Mongabay India's work. Extremely excited for this event, where I will be representing Mongabay India, Mongabay at the Indiaspora's "Forum for Good" meeting at Abu Dhabi.
