Mental Health Workshop surrounding the production of Romeo and Juliet. On March 24 at 6 p.m., join us at Safe and Sound (4422 W Leon Terrace). During this workshop, led by Gena L. Orlando, the Wisconsin Area Director for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, we will cover the topic of teen Suicide Prevention: Helping teens deal with big emotions and relationships. Mission BBQ is giving away a FREE sandwich to Vietnam Era Veterans on National Vietnam War Veterans Day on March 29th.

Attention Milwaukee area First Responders and Veterans: The BRAVE Program is collaborating with SC Johnson and the SE WI Veteran Suicide Prevention Task Force to host a wellness/resiliency event at SC Johnson Golden Rondelle Theater on Saturday, March 29 from 1300-1500, This community interest program will feature Dr. Gregory Burek, MD, Dr. Erich Roush, PsyD, and Taylor Daugherty, MS, CCC-SLP presenting on trauma effecting First Responder and Veteran day-to-day lives. Key topics include: cortisol effects on one’s body, mood and sleep; military and first responder culture; the body’s response to stress; and how stress and trauma effect cognition and brain health.
