AI entrepreneur and CTO/co-founder of Layer0, Ishan Anand, hosted a workshop for Wisconsin School of Business students to provide insights into accessible approaches to large language models (LLM). “The first day [of the workshop] covers the process of getting a computer to turn this word problem into a number problem. The second day is about, once we’ve mapped words into numbers, then what are the calculations we do to predict the right word?” - Ishan Anand ?? This two-day workshop was supported by Operations and Information Management professor, Enno Siemsen. Through utilizing Excel to understand the complexity of GPT-2, students were able to gain hands-on learning of LLMs and the work that must be done “under the hood” to make AI platforms as approachable as possible.
