Advocating for our 17 union crafts and 40,000 working members on the job, in the community and the halls of government.
关于我们
The Wisconsin Building Trades Council was founded in 2018 to carry on the proud traditions of our member unions – many of which have been working for workers’ rights for over 130 years. Today the WBTC supports and furthers the efforts of 15 different unions in the building trades with 73 locals and over 40,000 members overall. All are working together: - To pursue the highest level of performance and technical knowledge in their industries - To maintain a position as the preferred choice for commercial construction in the state - To create a steady stream of work for union members - To fight for The Prevailing Wage for all union members - To ensure on-site compliance with safety and health regulations - To foster a workforce diverse in ethnicity and gender - To be transparent and accountable in all business relationships - To provide apprenticeship and professional growth opportunities for workers - To take a leading role in philanthropic and volunteer activities within the community - To take a proactive role

Thanks to all who attended yesterday's event celebrating the completion of the Cardinal-Hickory Creek Transmission Line- a modernization of our energy infrastructure that was over a decade in the making. Speakers at the event included representatives from Dairyland Power, ITC Holdings, the Clean Grid Alliance, the Federal Permitting Steering Council, and IBEW 953's own Nick Webber. Cardinal-Hickory has created family-supporting jobs for highly skilled union workers, not just during construction, but for years to come in maintaining the safety and reliability of the system. This work doesn't just represent a paycheck, but the pride of building critical infrastructure that will power communities for generations. Congratulations to all who made this project a reality!

Every time you step on a construction site, your safety and wages are protected by laws that were voted into place. Our union benefits didn't appear by magic - they were won by workers who used their voice. This election, honor those who came before us by exercising your right to vote. The future of our working conditions, wages, and collective bargaining rights depends on union members showing up. ?? #UnionStrong #VoteForWorkers
