Fluid temperature control within the heated hose market is a critical application that we support directly via resistance wire, specifically within the medical industry where a slight deviation in accuracy can be the difference of life or death. There are a few key applications within the medical field that require heated hoses for fluid temperature control, one example that comes to mind is safely administering Intravenous Fluids (IV) to a patient. This is particularly important for administering products such as blood plasma or packed red blood cells, which are kept at specific temperatures to maintain their effectiveness. Certain medications can be uncomfortable or even harmful if administered cold, heated hoses ensure the medication reaches a comfortable temperature for the patient. Another medical application that relies on heated hoses is Extracorporeal Circulation (ECC), this process prevents blood coagulation (clotting) during surgical procedures. During procedures like open heart surgery, blood is circulated outside the body through a heart-lung bypass machine, heated hoses ensure that blood temperature will maintain a safe range during this process, reducing the risk of clotting. Warming blankets are another medical application that relies on resistance wire for uniform/localized heat distribution, heated hoses are used to flow warm water through a blanket, allowing patients to maintain a safe body temperature after surgery when they are more susceptible to feeling cold and stiff.
