Recent corporate earnings surpassed expectations ahead of the next Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting, scheduled for November 6-7. The Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) Price Index posted a 2.2% annual increase in August 2024, and equity markets appear to be pricing in a 25-basis point cut at the upcoming FOMC meeting. In early October, the U.S. Dollar Index (DXY) rose to around 102, indicating a stronger dollar compared to foreign currencies.
