We are seeking a Facilities MEP Technician to join our team of experienced individuals. This role will provide support to the Mechanical Technician/Licensed Water Operator for the maintenance related needs of all estate buildings and systems. They will perform preventative maintenance tasks as directed and will also support the potable water plant as a backup for the Licensed Water Operators. There is so much to know and learn about Winterthur! The majority of our guests receive their first introduction to our history and collections from our engaging and knowledgeable guides. With summer coming to a close, we are ramping up for increase in visitation that comes in the fall! We have openings for three positions on this amazing team: Museum Guide (part time) - Museum Guides lead visitors through pre-selected rooms within the Winterthur House.?Museum Guides will be trained to provide the Introductory Tour, seasonal tours, and special topic tours. Estate Guide (part time) - Estate Guides lead narrated tram tours of the garden and estate, guide garden walks, and provide lightly interpreted estate shuttle transportation. Tour Program Assistant (full time) - Individuals in this role engage visitors in the house, galleries, and garden to bring a cohesive and vibrant interpretation of the entire Winterthur estate. In addition, Tour Program Assistants serve as Lead Guides, coordinating interpretive activities on assigned days. Tour Program Assistants make significant contributions to tour content, format, and training materials. This involves intensive research, writing, collaboration, and knowledge of visitor experience and interest. Winterthur is seeking a Garden & Grounds Technician, a position that performs a variety of work in the planning, establishing and maintaining turf grass and field areas throughout the Winterthur Garden and Estate. They assist in management of contractors working with turf fertilization and maintenance. They will also assist with horticulture activities such as pruning, mulching, weeding leaf removal and herbicide application. They will manage horticulture interns and volunteers in their areas and work with teams as needed in the Winterthur Garden and Estate.?This position is responsible for ensuring all work is conducted in a manner fostering Winterthur’s aesthetic/environmental stewardship initiatives.?This position is considered essential personnel and will help with weather emergencies i.e. snow removal, hurricane cleanup as requested as well as work 2-3 rotating weekends a year.?They will assist as needed with all Winterthur events and special programs. Winterthur is seeking a Horticulturist to join our Estate & Landscape team in maintaining and preserving the beautiful garden and estate of H. F. Du Pont. Knowledge of plants, the cultural requirements as well as the design principles used in the Winterthur Garden and Estate is essential for success. They?will assist in the curatorial duties of plant identification, plant selection, and documentation of design intent and also assist with plant records (documenting plant additions/deletions), labeling and yearly inventory.
