Has anyone tried the self-driving Whill wheelchairs at SEA TAC yet and want to share? Or know anything about them? It’s been fun to watch people ride around every time I pass through. As I was typing this, one just rolled past me by itself! Video description: No audio in video. Seattle airport and a white smart wheelchair rolls by Tiffany, on its own and no one sitting in it, with people walking around it. Link to article about pilot in comments. CSUN 2025 was such an amazing conference. My heart is soooo full. Like many of us, I showed up with a heavy heart thinking about the state of accessibility funding. I left feeling loved and part of a large group committed to inclusive accessibility. ???? There are too many names to list. If I missed you, let’s meet up for a virtual coffee. Until next year: much love and peace to you as you push forward in changing access. ?? Full ID and tags: CSUN Conference room setting. Image 2: view from back of conference room and chairs of people. Tiffany is up front facing Bryan Ward (National iCanConnect Coordinator and Tech expert from HKNC), who is providing expert feedback on our rural access discussion, through tactile sign language, and sign to English interpreters. There is a green arrow pointing to Bryan to identify him in the crowd (view of his back). #AT #AssistiveTechnology #CSUNatC25 #CSUNatC #CSUN2025 #a11y #accessibility #ATcommunity CSUN = California State University Northridge, their Center on Disabilities hosts an AT conference annually

I'll be teaching a free class on nonvisual graphics creation and design using SVG coding starting this Thursday from 4-5:30pm PT. This workshop is for the NYPL Andrew Heiskell Braille and Talking Books Library, is open to anyone interested worldwide, and will run on the 13th, 20th, and 27th. Come learn how to build your own digital and tactile graphics with nothing but a text editor and some syntax! Over the 3 courses, we'll follow my BlindSVG site and cover everything from file setup, basic shapes, paths and curves, to advanced techniques and final output. Perhaps you can use some of these skills to create nifty tactile designs for your CSUN business cards! Or build a schematic, wireframe layout, organize objects in a room or set up an exhibit hall map, make a personal logo, or just have fun creating art. This class is open to anyone, blind, sighted, and everywhere in between, so come and learn these skills, learn how to teach these skills to others, or share your personal SVG projects. https://lnkd.in/gBuDRVgr
