???????????????????? ?????????? ???? ????????????: ?????????? ???????????????? ???? ???????????? As part of the Accelerating Women’s Empowerment in Energy (#AWEE) program, funded by the U.S. Department of State - Bureau of Energy Resources and implemented by Winrock International, we were thrilled to conduct a hands-on solar photovoltaic training in Kakuma! The training program was designed to build essential competencies in sizing, installation, maintenance, and repair of solar-powered appliances. Through this training, women in the region acquired practical and technical skills, positioning them for career opportunities in renewable energy and empowering them to support sustainable energy solutions in their communities. From connecting junction boxes to mounting light fixtures, these women are not only advancing their expertise but are also continuing to develop skills that lead their communities toward a greener, more resilient future for Turkana County and for Kenya as a whole. Empowered women are key to a sustainable world. Join us in celebrating these incredible trainees and the bright future they’re building! #WomenInEnergy #AWEE #RenewableEnergy #CleanEnergy #SolarTraining #Empowerment #Sustainability #WomenEmpowerment #YouthEmpowerment #FutureOfWork #FutureIsGreen #WinrockInternational #ToolkitFoundation

???????????????????? ?????????? ???? ???????????? ?????? ?? ?????????????? ????????????????! In Turkana West Sub-County, Kenya, The Toolkit Foundation (TTF) is using an Accelerating Women’s Empowerment in Energy (#AWEE) Small Grant--funded by the U.S. Department of State - Bureau of Energy Resources and implemented by Winrock International--to equip women to play a vital role in the clean energy transition. With a growing solar energy sector, The Toolkit Foundation is training 150 #youth and #women, aged 18-35, with essential skills in solar installation, maintenance, and repair. Enhancing their employability in the renewable energy value chain. By using technology during the comprehensive skills training, technicians will not only be equipped with solar PV knowledge and skills, but also gain knowledge of electrical safety, digital literacy, and general employability and entrepreneurship skills, creating opportunities for some to start their own businesses. AWEE aims to address gender disparities in the energy sectors of Kenya and South Africa. Backed by the Gender Equity and Equality Action Fund (GEEA), this project is aimed at supporting the professional growth and empowerment of women in the clean energy space. This project is a crucial step towards overcoming historic gender-based barriers, promoting gender equality, and advancing the clean energy transition. Let's build a sustainable and inclusive energy future! #CleanEnergy #RenewableEnergy #SolarEnergy #WomenInSolar #SolarTechnology #WomenInEnergy #SolarTechnicians #AWEE #WinrockInternational #ToolkitFoundation #Empowerment #GreenFuture #WomenEmpowerment #YouthEmpowerment #FutureOfWork #FutureIsGreen

We’ll soon be in Baku to participate in #COP29 hosted by the United Nations. Global climate needs have never been more urgent; meeting them requires optimized and equitable capital distribution, along with effective public-private collaboration. Winrock International pioneered the carbon credit market with ACR at Winrock International, the world’s first private voluntary greenhouse gas registry. We have decades of experience in forest protection and restoration, clean energy, ecosystem services, carbon markets, and resilient, climate-smart agriculture in the U.S. and around the world. Our counter-trafficking and safe migration programs engage local partners and governments to protect communities and livelihoods increasingly threatened by climate change. Winrock’s climate experts are ready to collaborate and join the conversation for a greener world at COP29: https://lnkd.in/gD8atG-J Hope to see you there! The USAID TerresEauVie Activity showcased its water and conflict mitigation accomplishments through its winning photo featured in the #USAIDWaterPhotoContest. Competition for the control of natural resources such as water and grazing areas has led to high tension between farmers and herders in Niger. TerresEauVie has worked with communities and governments to secure vital resources and ease tensions in the region.
