This morning, we had the privilege of hearing from Adam Winkler, Director of Media Strategy and Storytelling for Winkler Public Relations, at our Distinguished Speaker Breakfast Series, which benefits the Patrick J. Kiley Education in Leadership Scholarship Fund. Adam pivoted public relations following an extraordinary 20-year career in broadcast journalism. He most recently excelled in a multifaceted role for ABC13/KTRK-TV, the news leader in his hometown of Houston. Twice awarded a Lone Star Emmy as a Sports Anchor (2023, 2015), Adam was named the Best Sports Reporter in Texas - Large Market TV at the 2024 Texas Broadcast News Awards. In all, Winkler has received 21 Associated Press/Broadcasters association awards in Virginia, Texas and Louisiana in addition to his 14 career Emmy nominations. Engaging our local youth is a wonderful way to build our local workforce! We were very excited to once again partner with the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce, Lone Star College, Conroe Independent School District, Willis Independent School District, Education for Tomorrow Alliance and 50 local companies to put on the "Youth to Career Fair" for area 7th graders and high school CTE students. This event allows us to educate area students on a wide variety of career opportunities. Special thanks to everyone that helped make this event such a huge success!
