?? WINGS CRS Recovery & Resilience Mission Update - Guerrero, Mexico ?? This past week In Guerrero, Mexico, WINGS CRS was hard at work helping communities still reeling from the devastation caused by recent natural disasters. This past week, three water trucks were dispatched to provide clean water to 24 families living high above Acapulco—at elevations reaching 5,574 feet. These remote areas have little to no utilities and are especially vulnerable to hurricane-force winds. With the next hurricane season just four months away, the need for strong, concrete homes is urgent. Right now, many families still live in makeshift shelters of tarp, tin, and palm tree lumber. They’re racing against time to build hurricane-resistant homes to protect their children from future storms. We’ve seen too many children suffer unbearable fear and trauma from past hurricanes—Hurricane Otis in 2023 and Hurricane John in 2024. It’s time to build brighter, safer futures for them. ?? Together, we can. ?? Let’s stand with these children and all the families fighting for resilience. ? How You Can Help: ?? $23 provides 1 family in need with a 1-month supply of clean water for drinking, hygiene, and construction.?? $180 sponsors a water truck to supply clean water for 8 families. #RecoveryMission #HopeForGuerrero #GaelHernandez #WINGSCRS #CleanWater #DisasterRelief #HurricaneRecovery #ResilienceMatters #ChildrenOfGuerrero

On December 23, 16 more impoverished families benefited from our Hurricane John Emergency Feeding Mission's ongoing water deliveries and the Mexican government’s remarkable gesture of granting land ownership to squatters. These efforts have empowered impoverished families to transition from makeshift shelters to constructing sustainable, permanent homes—a major step toward long-term recovery and community rebuilding. Over the past eight weeks, the mission has provided between 500 to 2000 liters of clean water to 369 families in dire need in the post-hurricane drought. This achievement highlights the power of collaboration and resilience, paving the way for a brighter future for Acapulco’s vulnerable communities. During the past 13 months the combined Hurricane Otis & Hurricane John Emergency Missions have provided food to 1186 families (4500 estimated lives) and 400 families with clean water with only $28, 600 in donations. No other group, church or NGO provided aid to these 3 at-risk communities. This work will continue until we develop a 100% resilient community. If you will consider a year-end donation to help us sustain more families in need, please visit wings-crs.org/donate or Zelle to [email protected]. And thank you on behalf of these grateful families and Wings CRS!
