We are excited to share our recent blog post highlighting the Daybreak Fund! The Daybreak Fund is a #Wisconsin-based donor collaborative based that supports organizations that use their knowledge creatively to mitigate the impacts of climate change for the Lake Michigan watershed and surrounding areas. Their grantmaking uplifts local organizations implementing new #NatureBasedClimateSolutions, deep Indigenous expertise, natural resource knowledge and #CommunityBuilding to help create social and #EnvironmentalJustice along the shores of Lake Michigan and in the surrounding areas. “We are really looking at two things: How can we support practices that help capture or contain carbon, and then how we can build resilience in the face of climate change so that communities aren’t as vulnerable?” - Vicki Elkin, ED of Fund for Lake Michigan,?partner of the Daybreak Fund. The Daybreak Fund has opened its?2025 Request for Proposals?(RFP), making at least $1.5 million available to nonprofits, tribes, local agencies, and educational institutions focused on advancing climate resilience, water protection, and environmental equity in Wisconsin’s Lake Michigan basin and Lake County, Illinois.
