Residents can enjoy the park for walking, exercising, picnicking, or to simply observe the native flora and fauna. When Windsor Members return this season, they can stop by The Gallery at Windsor to view a Florida Native Plant photography display featuring the stunning photography of Roger L. Hammer, an award-winning professional naturalist, botanist, author, and photographer. More than 35 vivid photographs grace the walls and will be the backdrop for a series of educational and wellness events planned for the space, including a native plant talk and meditation sessions. Members can also tap into native plant resources including books and videos available for viewing in the gallery’s media room. In January, the exhibition will travel to the Environmental Learning Center (ELC) where it will be on display through the end of February. The ELC rotating art shows feature a dynamic selection of artists that align with its mission of environmental stewardship. We are pleased to announce that Windsor’s legendary Robert Trent Jones Jr. golf course has been certified an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, joining an elite group of the world’s most sustainable golf clubs. The designation follows a comprehensive evaluation of Windsor’s environmental standards for the golf course and reflects the Club’s dedication to enhancing the area’s natural surroundings and strengthening the local wildlife habitat. Windsor’s course is now one of approximately 900 courses in the world to hold this prestigious certification. The Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program, developed by Audubon International, guides golf courses in protecting the environment and preserving golf's natural heritage. The path to certification includes a review of environmental planning, wildlife and habitat management, outreach and education, chemical use reduction, water conservation, and water quality management. "Windsor has shown a strong commitment to its environmental program. They are to be commended for their efforts to provide a sanctuary for wildlife on the golf course property," said Christine Kane, CEO at Audubon International. Photo by Jeffrey R. We are pleased to announce Left Hand, Right Hand, an expansive exhibition of recent works by Sir Christopher Le Brun and Charlotte Verity, will be on display at The Gallery at Windsor from January 27 to April 25, 2025. Curated by Robin Vousden, the exhibition will provide a rare opportunity to see these two major British painters side by side, as they exhibit together for the first time in the USA. Since meeting in 1974 at the Slade School of Fine Art, London, and marrying in 1979, Le Brun and Verity have developed a rich artistic dialogue arising from years of shared experience, yet which is expressed by distinct painterly sensibilities. Le Brun’s work is led by his imagination, revealing a commitment to the essential pleasure of painting for its own sake, its processes and physicality. By contrast, Verity’s lucid compositions, born from hours of close observation and intense looking, distil a precise yet capacious vision of the world. Left Hand, Right Hand will feature some of the artists’ largest-scale paintings to date, highlighting for the very first time Le Brun’s and Verity’s closely connected yet contrasting careers, both characterised by a continuing spirit of invention and renewal. Both artists’ work is available from albertz benda gallery New York.
