Tribal Energy Solutions board member spotlight: Jeremy Hayward (Chairman) serves as the President of Redding Rancheria Economic Development Corp (RREDCO), where his astute leadership has been evident over the past 4 years, alongside his decade-long commitment to his Tribe. With a bachelor’s degree in business, Jeremy has chaired the investment committee and served as a dedicated board member for over ten years. Beyond his professional achievements, he is a devoted husband to Jennifer and a caring father of two. Jeremy's passion for sustainability is reflected in his focus on green energy projects, particularly in biomass to hydrogen and solar initiatives for the past 3 years. He has also contributed significantly to tribal governance, serving on the tribal council for 4 years and actively supporting non-profit organizations benefiting tribal communities without electricity. Jeremy's journey in tribal service began at the age of 14, and he is widely recognized for his strong leadership, forward-thinking objectives, and ability to unite people toward shaping a better future for the next seven generations.

Yesterday, we celebrated the successes of 2024 and geared up for 2025! Leadership shared their vision for the years ahead, and we took the morning to recognize our team members and their achievements, including honoring our Team Member of the Year. A highlight of the morning was presenting our beloved team member, Vicki Baggett, with a tribal blanket as she embarks on her next journey. Here's to making 2025 another fantastic year of serving our community together

??Today we observed National Ribbon Skirt Day which is normally held on January 4th every year. This day originates with the story of Isabella Kulak, a member of Cote First Nation, Saskatchewan. Kulak was shamed for wearing her handmade ribbon skirt to a formal wear day at her school in Canada. This interaction prompted a reaction on social media, a march to the school, and a push for the federal government to recognize the ribbon skirt. Senator Mary Jane McCallum put forward Bill S-219, An Act respecting National Ribbon Skirt Day, in honor of Isabella Kulak. The bill received unanimous support in Parliament and was passed into law in December 2022. ??Ribbon skirts represent identity, survival, and adaptation, as well as strength, resiliency, and womanhood. They are worn for ceremonies, daily life, and style, and are also a way to express pride and confidence in Indigenous heritage. The day is a chance to celebrate Indigenous culture, traditions, and contributions. Indigenous women have worn their ribbon skirts in solidarity with Kulak's experience?? #reddingrancheria #nationalribbonskirtday #ribbonskirt #StrongerTogether Win-River Resort & Casino
