This weekend I attended the Women In Media UCSB Spring Conference, learning from film and media professionals in areas such as production, marketing, journalism, content creation, and more. These women were incredible and wildly intelligent, a few being screenwriter Katie Mathewson, former editor in chief Michelle Lee, and Assistant Director Liz Tan. We received advice, weaknesses, successes, and overall uplifted one another this weekend. Tactical information about each position and project was discussed, but what was striking was the emphasis on balance, mindfulness, and being unapologetically yourself. As women, we need to be pushing for one another's successes in this competitive industry, to which I am so grateful to have been able to listen to panels of driven and hard-working women this weekend. #WomeninMedia #UCSB

I had the most wonderful experience this weekend at the Women In Media UCSB spring conference! I left each day feeling so inspired and empowered. Working on the outreach committee, I had the opportunity to secure four of our panelists: Hollie Collins on First Few Years, Gloria Kim on Music, and Alexia Del Valle and Andrea Casanova on Content Creators. It was such a pleasure to get to know these women and hear about their journeys. Thank you to the rest of the WIM team for putting on this amazing event!

Thank you Women In Media UCSB for hosting the 2024 Women in Media Spring Conference! It was a pleasure to attend the 2-day event, which showcased women from various media industries such as film, journalism, content creation, production, marketing and more. As a senior set to graduate this June, it was an amazing opportunity to learn from powerful women about their career paths. The event was filled with insightful advice, and I will be taking some of it with me as I embark on my own career journey. Here are a few things I learned: 1. Everything will work out! 2. Networking is key, don't be afraid to put yourself out there. 3. Be yourself everywhere you go! Once again, thank you to all the amazing speakers for coming out this weekend! #WomenInMediaUCSB #Networking #CareerAdvice #WomenInMedia

The Women In Media UCSB conference was hosted this weekend in Santa Barbara. I had the honor of interviewing the phenomenal Michelle Lee, the 2024 Leading Lady, on her exceptional career in journalism, marketing, diversity and brand building. Other panelists included journalists, marketing, screenwriters, production, film executives and content creators. I want to thank the amazing work of President Giovanna Andreassi, Vice President Phoebe Choi and all members of the executive board. As Chair of Events, it was beyond fulfilling to see the weekend come to life. I can speak for all attendees when I say we recieved a masterclass in passion, hard work and tenacity. To all of the speakers, thank you. We extend our utmost appreciation! ??

This past weekend, I got the chance to not only photograph, but have a moderator spot at the lovely Women In Media UCSB conference. Being able to moderate the Content Creator panel was such an exciting experience. Conversing with these four wonderful women was eye-opening and nothing short of insightful. I loved discussing the evergreen landscape of social media, the impact of being in an influencer position, and what we can observe from having an online presence. Photographing a conference was something I had never tried before, and though it required plenty of steps and plenty of time in post, it was such a rewarding experience. Capturing moments of the panelists interacting and speaking about their passions was nothing short of memorable. Being a creative is at the core of who I am, and it is through various media that I express myself. Be it video essays, photography, writing, mixed media collaging; I try my best to utilize all I have at my fingertips. Hearing all of these amazing women from different walks of life describe their journeys and how they keep their creative sparks alive was not only inspiring, but motivating. From their words, I realized that through genuine kindness and curiosity, everything you strive for is possible. Huge thank you to Giovanna Andreassi for incorporating me into this event! Her and the entire WIM team made this whole weekend happen for all of us, and I couldn't be more grateful for this experience and the chance to meet so many innovative ladies! Event photos below are taken and color graded by me :)

I had the opportunity to speak at Women In Media UCSB this past weekend as a part of the Journalism panel. ?SURREAL STUFF? I really enjoyed speaking to the students about creating a career in women’s sports and how a formal education is just a piece of it. As someone who doesn’t have a degree in journalism or communications I can say with confidence a career in sports media is all about knowing your sh*t and actually doing the work. Booking my first panel was on my 23/24 vision board and I hope to speak to more sports media girlies in the future! Thank you to Giovanna Andreassi and Women In Media UCSB for having me ??

This past weekend marked the completion of Women In Media UCSB's 8th Annual Spring Conference. Having produced three of these conferences with WIM, I can confidently say that they keep getting better every year. We were privileged to hear from the most remarkable women in the industry, including Emmy-winning screenwriters from shows like The Bear, The New York Times journalists, childhood-favorite YouTubers, and top-notch marketing experts. Our outstanding Leading Lady, Michelle Lee, left us all feeling deeply inspired and eager to drive tangible change in the industry. This would not have been possible without the tireless work of the executive board, whose dedication made this event possible.?Thank you so much to Francesca D'Agata, Irie Aburto, Samantha Dailey, Sofia Shin, Aria Mahmoud, and Nicole Martinez. I need to give a special shoutout to Phoebe Choi, who has been an absolute joy to work alongside over the past year. Her incredible dedication, hard work, and unwavering support as Vice President has been invaluable. Phoebe is sadly (but not surprisingly) graduating early. I will miss you so much Phoebe! I’m already looking forward to next year… let’s get to work!!?
