Wilson Okamoto Corporation is partnering with Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company on the State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation's Puunene Roadway Improvements, Wakea Avenue to Kuihelani Highway project. ?The Groundbreaking Ceremony was conducted on November 12, 2024.?In attendance were HDOT Director Ed Sniffen; State Officials Justin Woodson and Troy Hashimoto; County of Maui Officials Alice Lee, Tasha Kama and Jordan Molina; Len Dempsey, HDCC; and Tanner Cho, WOC. The project is intended to increase roadway capacity to reduce traffic congestion and provide safety enhancements, including street lighting, sidewalks, and multi-use shoulders along this corridor. Construction is expected to be completed by April 2026 for $25.5 million. #PuuneneMaui #CapacityProject #HDOT
