It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Steve Gubin, one of the original founders of Wilson Electric. A pioneer in the industry, Gubin was an influential leader with intrinsic talent for conceptualizing and communicating vision. He leaves behind a legacy of innovation and hard work. He was an extraordinarily smart and accomplished entrepreneur who built a company that still represents and practices the same principles he used to create the company culture. Under his leadership Wilson became one the largest and most successful electrical contractors in the State of Arizona. His management style placed employees as its most important asset, and he led by example and was highly respected by employees. “We owe a lot of our company’s success to Steve’s exceptional entrepreneurial spirit. He took risks, remained committed, and helped form the culture that is Wilson Electric,” states Wes McClure, CEO of Wilson Electric. Steve was one of the leaders in the merger of AGC and ABC forming today's Arizona Builders Alliance (ABA). His strong work ethic, commitment to clients and belief that his colleagues were integral to both his personal and the company’s success made him truly one of a kind. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and it can’t be put into words the loss that will be felt by his passing. In addition to his family, those of us who had the opportunity to work with him will also feel a tremendous loss. Services are Friday, January 3, 2025, 12:30pm at Mt. Today we pause to honor the brave individuals who have sacrificed so much to protect our freedom. Wilson Electric’s 65 Veterans have the day off as a small token of our gratitude for their courage and selflessness to serve our country. Veterans Day is our moment to say “thank you” to these heroes. We hope you have a wonderful Veterans Day!

Time to celebrate! Last Friday, 17 employees and their families gathered at a special luncheon in their honor to celebrate graduating from Wilson Electric’s in-house four-year accredited apprenticeship program. Reaching the significant milestone of becoming a journeyman, these individuals worked hard receiving classroom instruction along with on-the-job training where they learned from some of the best in the industry. Graduates spent the last four years honing their skills and have demonstrated their extensive knowledge in the electrical field. We look forward to seeing the outstanding contributions these highly skilled tradespeople make in the industry. Congratulations, all your hard work has paid off!
