This past month, our Wilson & Company Wellness Committee hosted a firmwide Saucy Salsa Contest! Employees across all office locations got creative in the kitchen, blending up seasonings and spices to impress their office-tasting panels. Thirteen salsa champions emerged from the competition, each showcasing their unique and flavorful creations. All winners received a new blender to continue crafting their spicy concoctions. What is SDCL? SDCL is an innovative bridge design system that stands for "Simple for Dead Load and Continuous for Live Load." It effectively addresses two critical aspects of bridge performance: the dead load (the weight of the bridge itself) and the live load (traffic and other dynamic forces). This method enhances both the structural efficiency and longevity of bridges. Wilson & Company is proud to have worked on the Missouri Department of Transportation's Fixing Access to Rural Missouri (FARM) Bridge Program. This project utilized the SDCL approach to upgrade 31 bridges across rural Missouri, improving safety and access for local communities. Wilson & Company employees joined local leaders and community members to celebrate the opening of Jarales Bridge on NM 109 in the community of Belen, NM. ? This project addresses a long-standing need in the Belen area, where drivers once faced delays of up to an hour waiting for trains to pass. The new bridge allows motorists to cross the railroad tracks while trains pass freely below. Wilson & Company provided design services on this project, including a new bridge, rebuilding portions of the roadway, striping, signage, drainage improvements, and erosion control. ? Designed with the future in mind, the bridge is wide enough to accommodate future track expansions, ensuring long-term value for the community and promoting economic development. For over 80 years, the NM 4 highway has divided the heart of the Pueblo of Jemez, posing safety risks for Tribal members walking to homes, schools, and community services. The new 'Hemish Path to Wellness' multi-use trail addresses these challenges while honoring the Pueblo’s history, culture, and commitment to wellness. Wilson & Company is proud to have provided design and construction services for this impactful project, enhancing safety and mobility while respecting cultural traditions. Wilson & Company staff were proud to attend the grand opening of the Eastman Park Phase 2 Wetland Experience in Windsor, CO! Our firm provided this project's grading and drainage design, working alongside BHA Design, Inc., the project's prime consultant and landscape architect. The park’s 9-acre human-made wetland area to promote river health which will intentionally flood during spring runoff and larger storm events.?The other park amenities were raised to avoid frequent flooding. This project was one of the first design contracts for our Loveland office in 2021. Our design team is excited to continue our valued relationship with the Town of Windsor Colorado. #Landscapearchitecture #parkdesign?
