Earlier this week, members of our Washington, DC office gathered together to assemble Thanksgiving side dish kits and dessert kits in support of Horton's Kids, Inc., a nonprofit organization empowering children growing up in DC’s most under-resourced communities. Members of our Washington, DC office recently participated in harvesting honey from our sponsored beehive on the roof of the office. The honey is extracted by scraping it off of the beehive frames, and mixing it in a centrifuge. The beekeepers ensure that enough honey remains in the hive to keep the bees fed and prepared for their winter hibernation. In partnership with urban beekeeping company Alvéole, Willkie continues to support urban pollinator populations through our sponsored beehives.
