Williamson County continues to strengthen its position as a leader in economic development and innovation with the recent approval of the Central Texas Spaceport Development Corporation (SDC). This new initiative, a partnership with Burnet County, will foster infrastructure development for specialized launch and landing facilities, further positioning our region as a hub for the growing space industry. With Firefly Aerospace headquartered in the City of Cedar Park—right here in Williamson County—the establishment of the SDC represents a significant step forward in attracting complementary aerospace companies and investment to the area. The global space economy is projected to surpass $1 trillion by 2040, and WilCo is seizing the opportunity to be at the forefront of this growth. By providing the framework for space-related infrastructure, this initiative will not only drive innovation but also generate high-quality jobs, enhance regional economic diversification, and reinforce Central Texas as a key player in the future of space exploration. Congratulations to all involved in making this vision a reality! Arthur Jackson, MBA Scott Smith #WilCo #EconomicDevelopment #Innovation #FireflyAerospace
