Our fabulous family advocates, Cheri Johnson, Tamika Givens, Taylor Sandeno and Fernanda Mrugala are attending the Children's Advocacy Centers of Illinois (CACI) 3-day Annual Advocate Conference in Springfield this week! The training explores advanced issues faced by CAC advocates, and provides them an opportunity to learn from national speakers on topics affecting advocates and the services they provide.

Providing hope, healing and justice for abused children.
关于我们
The only agency of its kind in Will County, the Will County Children's Advocacy Center is a hybrid government/private 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded by Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow to provide hope, healing and justice for children (and non-offending family members) who have endured physical and sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, child pornography, neglect, and exposure to violence. The Will County Children's Advocacy Center is fully accredited by the National Children’s Alliance and is a proud United Way of Will County partner agency that serves 700+ new children, annually. Multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) that include prosecutors, law enforcement detectives, DCFS investigators, forensic interviewers, family advocates, medical professionals, and trauma-focused therapists work together in a child-friendly facility, to reduce trauma and identify resources, so that children and families may begin the healing process. Services provided: * Forensic Interviews * Advocacy Services * Trauma-Informed Mental Health Therapy * Medical Exams (in collaboration with Edward Hospital Care Center) * Child Pornography & Exploitation Victim Services * Paws-4-Kids Canine Advocates In 1999, FRIENDS OF THE WILL COUNTY CAC - a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization was created to accept donations from caring and generous individuals, businesses, and organizations. We rely on the generosity of private and public grants, as well as donations from individuals, organizations and corporations and our annual MEN WHO COOK fundraiser to provide our important programs and services.

Happy to have Savannah Regis LCSW, one of our 4 Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) trained trauma therapists attend this in-person, intensive training that focused on?adapting existing skills to address youth with problematic sexual behaviors (PSB) in order to help keep kids safe, families together, and recidivism rare!
We were honored to host some AMAZING clinicians for our in-person intensive advanced training for Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) in beautiful Denver, CO last week! Clinicians learned learn how to adapt their existing skills to address youth with problematic sexual behaviors (PSB), helping keep kids safe, families together, and recidivism rare. On top of the in-person learning, attendees will also have two days of virtual learning, and 11 group consultation calls to help put their new skills to work. If you're a clinician, missed this training and want to add to your mental health toolbelt an implementation of a PSB application of TF-CBT, we'll be hosting another advanced (virtual) training starting in February! Today, we were ecstatic to have Village of Frankfort Mayor Keith Ogle and Trustee Daniel Rossi stop in with 3 (!) boxes of unused Halloween candy donated donated by Frankfort residents and Village employees. Our family advocates and therapists will distribute it to children who receive forensic interview and trauma therapy services at the Will County CAC. Before Mayor Ogle and Trustee Rossi left, they toured our new building and talked with several of our fabulous employees - including two of our furry and friendly support dogs, Kiwi and Bridget!
