Yesterday, Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow and several of our employees, welcomed members of 100+ Women Who Care of Will County — for the check presentation of their collective donation to support the Will County Children’s Advocacy Center! Because of their generosity, and a matching grant from Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation, their donation of $8,850 will go to our programs providing hope, healing and justice for Will County children, ages 3-17, who have endured severe physical abuse, sexual abuse, exploitation, neglect, & exposure to violence. ?? Providing hope, healing and justice for abused children.
关于我们
The only agency of its kind in Will County, the Will County Children's Advocacy Center is a hybrid government/private 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded by Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow to provide hope, healing and justice for children (and non-offending family members) who have endured physical and sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, child pornography, neglect, and exposure to violence. The Will County Children's Advocacy Center is fully accredited by the National Children’s Alliance and is a proud United Way of Will County partner agency that serves 700+ new children, annually. Multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) that include prosecutors, law enforcement detectives, DCFS investigators, forensic interviewers, family advocates, medical professionals, and trauma-focused therapists work together in a child-friendly facility, to reduce trauma and identify resources, so that children and families may begin the healing process. Services provided: * Forensic Interviews * Advocacy Services * Trauma-Informed Mental Health Therapy * Medical Exams (in collaboration with Edward Hospital Care Center) * Child Pornography & Exploitation Victim Services * Paws-4-Kids Canine Advocates In 1999, FRIENDS OF THE WILL COUNTY CAC - a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization was created to accept donations from caring and generous individuals, businesses, and organizations. We rely on the generosity of private and public grants, as well as donations from individuals, organizations and corporations and our annual MEN WHO COOK fundraiser to provide our important programs and services.

A dedicated and compassionate social worker with a deep understanding of the challenges and needs of our local community, TAMIKA GIVENS is devoted to helping youth experiencing trauma. Her journey to becoming a social worker began while working for a treatment facility in Manteno, IL where she provided care, structure, support, and stability to teenagers experiencing behavioral and mental health issues. Tamika earned a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Social Work, focused on children and families, from Governors State University. After completing a 2-semester internship at the Will County CAC, we were thrilled that she joined our team of trauma-informed professionals! ?#BlackHistoryMonth?#TamikaGivens?#WillCountyCAC
