The iconic annual gingerbread display at the Willard InterContinental Washington, D.C. is said to be the oldest continuous gingerbread display in Washington, D.C. And this year, the subject is monumental. ????????? This year’s display features a confectionary homage to the National Mall—made entirely of gingerbread! This incredible, edible scaled model features beloved landmarks along the National Mall, including favorites like the Washington Monument and D.C. War Memorial and the iconic museums from our partners and neighbors at the Smithsonian Institution. This year’s display was designed and built by students from Frederick Community College and Frederick County Public Schools. Congrats and well done! The Trust was honored to receive a special look at this year’s gingerbread National Mall with the Willard team. The Willard InterContinental Washington, D.C. continued its gobbling goodwill streak this weekend by hosting Peach and Blossom on the eve of their presidential pardoning. It's unclear if the VIP — very important poultry — guests also procured IHG Hotels & Resorts One Rewards Diamond status as part of their pardon package or if being spared from the Thanksgiving serving platter was benefit enough in the eyes of IHG and the White House.
