  • We are proud to acknowledge and celebrate the important roles that our great people have in delivering high quality patient care. That is why we focus on recognizing and rewarding dedication and service through our Employee of the Month Program! In the words of Alaina & Madison's peers: "Thursday 12/26, Holiday Week. There was a scheduling oversight that resulted in us having 3 room schedules and 2 sonographers staffed. As a team Madi and Alaina worked together and did not have to cancel or reschedule any patients. Madi performed 14 ultrasounds on this busy day, juggling inpatients, ED, and our full outpatient schedules. Madi had a positive attitude and great customer service during the windstorm of this day. I truly appreciate Madison's calm nature and perseverance in times of stress. I also appreciate Alaina's work ethic, critical thinking, and ability to navigate situations like this. Alaina performed 17 ultrasounds in this single shift as well. It was truly a day for heroics, and Madi and Alaina's teamwork helped them take care of all their patients timely, and without having to reschedule anyone. Great job you two!" Congratulations to Alaina & Madison. We appreciate all that you do for our patients.

We are so thankful for the care our doctors provide. Here is the heartfelt nomination for Physician of the Quarter, Noor Al-Asady,DO. "I would love to nominate Dr. Al-Asady. She is a new provider with Willamette, and she was my father's provider when he passed away on December 3rd. She made such a difference in a hard time. She explained every single step of what she was doing and why she was doing it. She expressed how important my feelings were during this time. She acted with kindness in so many different ways, but mostly by making sure I had everything I needed, as well as who I needed to be there with me. Dr Al-Asady did the right thing, she held my hand as I said goodbye to my father and stayed hours over her shift to be with me. I will be forever grateful for this provider." ~ Nomination from Kelsey Laridon

  • Unwarranted Care Variation Reduction (UCVR) is a quality improvement program aimed at standardizing care delivery across Lifepoint hospitals. Research shows that standardized methods enhance both quality and patient outcomes. This program has been active for nearly two years, and Willamette Valley Medical Center is ranked second quality and patient outcomes for Congestive Heart Failure and seventh for Sepsis among our peers. Congratulations to our entire team for moving the needle for safety and standardization of care!

  • 2024 Q4 DAISY Award Winner - Tyler Hertel, RN Emergency Department. Congratulations Tyler on being named the 2024 Q4 DAISY Award Winner for Willamette Valley Medical Center! Tyler has only been with our organization for a few months, but his impact is already being felt by many. Check out the 2 nominations below those patients wrote for Tyler: "Recently during my stay at WVMC, I was cared for in the ED twice, the OR and ICU. All of the care I received was absolutely excellent. What really stood out to me was the care given by Tyler. As a new nurse, he approached his role with confidence, which also gave me confidence. He was compassionate, caring and thoughtful in his care and approach. He checked in frequently and kept me updated as things progressed. It is not easy to care for a coworker, but he did so privately with compassion and kindness. He also made sure to check in with my husband who was quite worried. I have heard from other patients about the care they received from Tyler, and they have experienced the same thing. I think he is a bright star at WVMC and having such a warm and caring nurse in the ED is a big win! He exemplified each of our core values and is so deserving of the DAISY award." "I rounded with a patient who said she was undergoing a terrible time with a Thyroid Storm which was new for her. She was very scared and said she had been very confused and “embarrassed by her confusion and moments of personal exposure and indecency”. She stated that Tyler was so kind, compassionate and treated her with so much dignity and grace. He helped her feel safe and that she would be ok during this crisis. She stated she couldn’t thank him enough. She is much better today, and has returned to normal cognition. She said much of that had to do with Tyler and his reassurance and great care. Thank you Tyler!" We are so glad you joined our team. Congratulations Tyler.

  • In August 2024, Willamette Valley Medical Center introduced advanced video remote interpretation services through AMN Language Services, revolutionizing patient communication by facilitating conversations in patients' preferred languages. Language barriers—such as those faced by Limited English Proficient (LEP) or patients who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing—can hinder understanding between patients and caregivers. The new system provides access to interpreters fluent in hundreds of languages within seconds, with most interactions enhanced by video connectivity. Since implementing the AMN Language equipment, WVMC has experienced a remarkable increase in usage, logging over 2,000 minutes in August and by November logging 4,989 minutes across the facility. Patients now receive vital healthcare information in their primary language more consistently and efficiently than ever. “It’s amazing. Easy to use and I have used it for patients speaking Spanish, Russian, Taiwanese, and more. This technology supports us to deliver the best care no matter what language a patient speaks.” Stephanie Perez, RN Short Stay Services.
