关于我们

Wild Rivers Conservancy of the St. Croix and Namekagon is the official non-profit partner of the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway, a unit of the National Park Service. Our mission is to inspire stewardship to forever ensure the rare ecological integrity of the St. Croix and Namekagon rivers and the National Park that flows through its heart. The St. Croix National Scenic Riverway is comprised of both the St. Croix and Namekagon Rivers as a 250 mile-long National Park. With an approach based on partnerships, the Conservancy is 501(c)3 nonprofit working to realize a vision for the St. Croix and Namekagon Rivers, as a place where rivers run free and clean, a diverse habitat sustains our unique and diverse flora and fauna, people have access to our National Park and the park flourishes, towns throughout the basin thrive, and people celebrate the river.

  • Hi, Riverway supporters. I'm excited to introduce myself. I'm Will Jenkins, Director of Development. I'm honored to be a part of such a great organization. Wild Rivers Conservancy of the St. Croix and Namekagon is a well-respected organization full of passionate people doing phenomenal work for a Riverway and watershed that is near and dear to me and my family. I grew up in Central Virginia and relocated to the Twin Cities area in 2014. I now reside in North Hudson with my family and spend most of my free time on the prairies, hiking trails, and riverways of western Wisconsin. Professionally, I have 15+ years of experience as a client, account, and project manager in the for-profit space and 10+ years experience as a volunteer, board member, and contractor for various nonprofit conservation organizations including; Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, Sportsmen for the Boundary Waters and Hunters of Color. I look forward to increasing my knowledge of the Riverway and utilizing my diverse skills and background to contribute to the continued success of Wild Rivers Conservancy. I look forward to connecting with you all and working as a group to advance the Conservancy's goals and mission.

  • On February 14, more than 1,000 National Park Service (NPS) staff lost their jobs, including dedicated team members at the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway. These staff are more than a number. They are the welcoming smile at a visitor center, the teacher passing down learnings to younger generations, and the dedicated professionals ensuring safe and equitable exploration for all visitors. Our partners at the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway are the guardians of one of the nation’s most treasured waterways. They protect its rich history, preserve its natural beauty, safeguard wildlife, and inspire visitors of all ages. As the official nonprofit partner of the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway, Wild Rivers Conservancy is asking for your support. Here are four direct actions you can take to aide us and our partners. ??Speak Up for the Riverway Contact your representatives and urge them to prioritize funding for the National Park Service. Ask Congress to reverse cuts and restore critical staff positions that keep our parks thriving. Contact your local elected official: https://lnkd.in/e9R7-Dm ??Support Local Businesses Fishing and hunting guides, outfitters, canoe and kayak rentals, paddle boat operators, restaurants, campground and lodging providers all play a vital role in welcoming and supporting park visitors. Riverway outfitters: https://lnkd.in/e4pjnJhi ??Support our work Your vital gift to Wild Rivers Conservancy of the St. Croix & Namekagon ensures that we can continue our work in conservation, education, and community engagement alongside the National Park Service. Make an online donation: https://lnkd.in/e5uN563w ??Practice leave no trace With fewer staff in the field, we all must take greater responsibility for protecting the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway. Follow Leave No Trace principles to minimize your impact and keep our national park pristine. • Hi, Conservancy supporters! I'm Owen Anderson, I joined the conservancy this past December as Outdoor Program Coordinator. What do I do? I get to help facilitate new outdoor experiences for all to discover what the St. Croix watershed has to offer. I graduated from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities with an Environmental Sciences, Policy and Management degree. I've been fortunate to spend years as an outdoor guide leading a variety of canoe and backpacking trips, teaching adaptive alpine skiing, and working in outdoor program logistics management. In my free time you can find me riding bikes, practicing photography, and learning new recipes. As I explore the watershed and connect with others I'm excited to experience the many unique ways people engage with the Riverway and how it brings them together. I'm also looking forward to helping people experience the Riverway for the first time, beginning the foundation of a lasting relationship with the St. Croix and Namekagon rivers.
