What you see in this video depicts the arrival of foxes, skunks, and coyotes at Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation, a non-profit organization founded in 1977. The animals in these photos are now safely living at our Sanctuary in Kendalia, Texas, but a few months before these videos were taken, they were in a living hell. Because of efforts launched by HSUS and HSI, the very animals you see in this video have all been saved. They will never be exposed to the suffering they once knew, but that is not the case for thousands of others who are still living in torment. Though their brutal confinement was legal, it was morally reprehensible. They were, like so many others, victims caught and exploited by the trade in wildlife urine and furs. This industry, that goes largely unnoticed and unrestrained, is one you may be contributing to, without ever realizing the suffering you are supporting. We invite you to follow their story to sanctuary, and to learn how you can help make a difference in the lives of the animals who are still being kept in prisons from which these animals were rescued. Please follow and share our multi-part series to learn about the foxes and others, now residing here at Wildlife Rescue, and for more information on how you can help the animals who are still languishing in the wildlife urine and fur industry. Please visit https://lnkd.in/gFhrtGes to follow their journey and to make a difference. Rescues like this are only possible with your support—donate today at https://lnkd.in/gyEMhx62

To rescue, rehabilitate, and release native wildlife, and to provide sanctuary and a voice for other animals in need.
关于我们
Established in 1977, Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation (WRR) receives over 10,000 wild animals per year for rehabilitation and release as well as providing permanent sanctuary for more than 600 resident non-releasable indigenous wildlife, non-native wildlife (large mammals, primates, reptiles and birds) and farmed animals. Wildlife Rescue is located on 212 acres in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, near Austin and San Antonio. The Roger and Phyllis Sherman Animal Care Complex (SACC) is located in north central San Antonio. In addition, WRR offers assistance, on a limited basis, to homeless companion animals and feral cats and provides advice and assistance for dealing with human-wildlife conflicts in a nonlethal manner. WRR staff work to educate the public about more appropriate and respectful relations with nature and wildlife. Whether through training, education, advocacy, or direct animal care, WRR fulfills its commitment to wildlife protection and ethical, sustainable relations between humans and the natural world. Because of our commitment to respect the rights and needs of wildlife, the main WRR facilities and grounds are not open to the public.

No Mother, No Milk—Squirrels & Opossums Need Help! With baby season upon us, Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation is already seeing an influx of orphaned, injured, and displaced young wildlife. These fragile animals arrive vulnerable and alone, completely dependent on us for survival. Each one requires specialized formula, expert care, and frequent feedings to grow strong enough for a future in the wild. From March 2–9, we’re holding our annual Formula Drive to raise $35,000 for life-saving nourishment. Every donation ensures these young animals grow strong enough to return to the wild. Your gift is more than nourishment—it’s a second chance for some of the smallest, most vulnerable lives in our care. Donate now to give them the care they need! https://lnkd.in/ggFzxhNN #BabySeason #SupportWildlife #WRRTX #WildlifeRescueandRehabilitation #WildlifeRescue #TexasWildlife #FormulaDrive

After weeks of care for an injured wing, a red-shouldered hawk is back where he belongs, soaring over the place he knows as home. His mate had been seen calling for him near downtown San Antonio, waiting and watching for his return. On Tuesday, he finally reunited with her, and as he took flight, strong and sure, it was a powerful reminder of why this work matters—not just for him, but for the one who never stopped looking for him. #WRRTX #WildlifeRescueandRehabilitation #WildlifeRescue #TexasWildlife #WildlifeRelease #hawk #RedShoulderedHawk

Baby season is here! During this critical time, more than 6,000 baby opossums, squirrels, songbirds, raccoons, and other wildlife come through our doors, receiving the warmth and care they need to grow strong and return to the wild. These baby opossums are just a few of the many who will rely on WRR in the coming months. Their care requires specialized diets, medical treatment, and space to develop the skills needed for life in the wild. Stay tuned for ways to help! #WildlifeRescue #SupportWildlife #WRRTX #SATX #BabySeason

Happy Valentine’s Day from WRR! ??? ? Love is in the air this February—along with a distinct scent! It’s skunk mating season, and while some animals serenade their mates, skunks have a different approach. A female who isn’t interested sprays her suitor, and males often spray each other in competition. People often don’t realize a skunk is nearby until the unmistakable scent drifts through the air. ? Let’s remember to give these animals space as they celebrate the season in their own unique way! ?? #WRR #WildlifeRescueandRehabilitation #AnimalRescue #Wildlife #ValentinesDay #Valentine
