Congratulations to two new Wildflower public charter school teams! Last week, Grove Charter Montessori’s application to open a new charter school in Grand Rapids, Michigan was approved by local authorizers, thanks to the hard work and inspiring vision of Founding Teacher Leaders Kate Caliri and Anisa Everett and Charter Leader Kate Robinson. The emerging Rainbow Montessori Charter, led by Dr. Rachelle Smith, Ed.D. in Columbus, Ohio, also earned approval in December for a new K-8 program. These schools will be the newest members of Wildflower's charter community, which currently spans Colorado, Minnesota, New York and Washington, D.C. Seven more Wildflower teams are developing charter applications in Tennessee, California, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island. We convened a community of Black educators and School Founders to liberate, inspire and thrive together in Philadelphia. Acting as a trusted advisor and connector, the Operations Guide bridges the gap between ETLs’ aspirations and Wildflower’s tools, processes, and resources. This role is instrumental in ensuring schools open successfully and thrive during their foundational stages. This is an hourly contract position (with a budgeted hourly rate of $75-100, commensurate with experience) with the possibility of a salaried position after the first 6 months, with a flexible schedule tailored to the needs of the schools and teams being supported.
