BMW of North America, LLC Visit to Wilco Area Career Center Today, the Wilco Area Career Center Automotive program had the distinct pleasure of welcoming John Lillig from BMW of North America, LLC. Wilco Automotive Instructors Mike Patt and Ken Hayes were on hand to extend a warm welcome to the BMW team. The Wilco Area Career Center CTE students had the unique opportunity to participate in the Amplify Advocacy Conference at the State Capital on March 4th and 5th with Wilco Fire Science Instructor Mark Oglesby and Special Population Coordinator Julia Oglesby. This event was designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to advocate for their education and future careers effectively. It was a platform for them to learn about the legislative process, develop their public speaking and networking skills, and understand the importance of civic engagement. The Essence of SkillsUSA SkillsUSA is a national organization that empowers its members to become world-class workers, leaders, and responsible American citizens. It enhances the lives and careers of students, preparing them for the workforce through various competitions, leadership development programs, and community service initiatives. The Regional North Competition is a critical part of this mission, serving as a qualifying round for the state and national championships.
