?? Last week, I had the amazing opportunity to attend the Grace Hopper Conference (GHC) in Philadelphia ?? Throughout the conference, I was immersed in a culture of supportive women in tech, which was empowering to experience firsthand. I had meaningful conversations with women who shared their journeys and offered valuable advice for the younger generation in tech. It was truly eye-opening and inspiring. I also attended insightful sessions on topics from Designing for all: The Importance of Accessibility in Product Design to From Pixels to Prototypes: Women Shaping the Future of Immersive Tech. These sessions, along with the chance to network with so many brilliant women in the Expo Hall, made the experience incredibly rewarding. To top it off, I shared this memorable trip with friends from WICS, which made it even more special. This past week, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Grace Hopper Celebration, an experience made possible thanks to UCI’s Office of Access and Inclusion (ICS OAI) and the Women in Information and Computer Sciences (WICS UCI) club, where I’m serving as this year’s Internal Vice President! As a second-year student, it was an amazing way to kick off the year, gaining invaluable lessons, knowledge, and experiences in Philadelphia. At the Expo Hall, I had the chance to interact with companies and recruiters, and I enjoyed many insightful conversations with inspiring women currently working in the field. One of the highlights was attending the session Designing for All: The Importance of Accessibility in Product Design. My conversations with the speakers afterward deepened my passion for inclusive tech and its importance in the future of product design. Throughout the week, I received valuable advice from experienced women in tech, engaged in meaningful conversations, and felt incredibly supported by the strong community I met. This experience helped clarify the path I want to take in my studies and career, and I’m excited about what’s ahead, including internships for summer 2025! Exploring Philadelphia for the first time with fellow GHC scholars was also so fun—beautiful architecture, amazing food, and so many wonderful memories! I’m feeling so grateful for this experience and excited to continue learning and growing!?

This past week I had the opportunity to attend the Grace Hopper Celebration conference. One of my favorite parts of GHC were the speaker sessions. Particularily my favorite session was led by Epic where I learned about what they are doing to promote inclusivity in healthcare and the impact that it has. At the expo I was able to speak to a whole bunch of companies I did not know before as well as learn about opportunities at companies I did know. There was so much positive energy and a strong communuty of women in tech. Everyone I spoke to at GHC was so kind and it was so nice to be able to chat with anyone. And of course it was so much fun traveling and briefly exploring Philadelphia with the GHC scholars! Thank you WICS UCI and ICS OAI for incredible opportunity. ??
