The Wichita Chapter of Kansas Society of Professional Engineers (WSPE) is an inclusive, nontechnical organization that aims to promote, recognize and enhance the engineering profession, regardless of practice area. Wichita Society of Professional Engineers fosters licensed professional engineers in service to society by delivering local professional development products and services, encouraging and assisting individuals in becoming licensed or appropriately certified, and advocating legislation and public policy for the betterment of human welfare and the profession in the Wichita area. WSPE's service region includes Reno, Harvey, Butler, Kingman, Sedgwick, Harper, Sumner, and Cowley County.

The first canon listed in NSPE's code of ethics states that engineers shall hold paramount the safety, health, and welfare of the public. A great way to actively follow that tenet is by getting to know your local publicly elected officials! Should a legislative matter that affects your area of competence arise, it's helpful if our elected officials know who to reach out to for knowledgeable advice. Join WSPE in hosting our local and state elected officials for breakfast on September 4th! Please register for the event on KSPE's website. The dress is professional, and the event begins at 7 AM.
