?? Are all wireless charging systems created equal? ?? We wanted to put that idea to the test, specifically focusing on their safety when exposed to foreign metal objects. We compare a standard 100KHz wireless charging solution against the WiBotic 6.78MHz system, examining their heating behaviors with small and medium-sized metal objects like screws and scissors. The results? The 100KHz system caused smaller objects to reach temperatures of 60-70°C, and larger objects, like scissors, reached over 100°C—temperatures that could damage equipment or pose safety risks. Meanwhile, the WiBotic 6.78MHz system kept foreign objects near room temperature (20-30°C), ensuring safer charging conditions for robots in dynamic environments.

? Why Make Your AMRs Sit Around Waiting for a Charge? ? Imagine this: Your AMRs are cruising around, getting things done—then boom, battery’s low. Time to dock, sit, and do absolutely nothing for the next hour (or more). Not exactly peak efficiency, right? With wireless opportunity charging, your robots can grab a quick charge whenever they pause—at loading zones, staging areas, or between tasks. No waiting around, no wasted time. Just seamless, on-the-go charging that keeps operations moving. ? More uptime – Your AMRs stay busy, not stuck at a charging dock. ? No worn-out connectors – Because… well, there aren’t any. ? No route redesigns – Place chargers where it makes sense for your workflow. Bottom line? If your AMRs aren’t charging while they work, they’re working less than they could be. Are your robots still stuck in the “dock-and-wait” era? Let’s talk! ?? #Automation #AMR #WirelessCharging #OpportunityCharging #WarehouseEfficiency #Robotics #Industry40

Take a look at the thermal images below. The only difference? One screw is a couple of threads looser than the other resulting in a fire waiting to happen. ?? For humans, we smell something burning, feel unusual heat, or just know something isn’t right. For autonomous vehicles, robots, and drones operating without direct human oversight, these failures are much harder to catch. That’s why autonomous systems need an equally smart, autonomous charging solution. WiBotic charging hardware and software is designed to identify anomalies before they become catastrophic. This isn’t just about efficiency—it’s about safety, reliability, and ensuring autonomous operations can scale with confidence. Have you seen unexpected power or charging failures in autonomous systems? Let’s discuss in the comments! ?? #robotics #autonomouscharging #wirelesscharging #batterytech #automation
Autonomous systems are smart. But loose wires happen! Here’s an example of why autonomous systems need an equally smart and autonomous charging solution. The photos below show a thermal image of a cable connected to a battery terminal. The difference between the two photos is one screw is tight and the other is a couple threads looser. And one is about to cause a fire while the other is totally normal. For autonomous systems, these are really hard problems to detect. But they happen way more often than one might think. A person can rely on smell, touch and intuition to hopefully detect something like this. But for any application where the operator isn’t standing right next to the vehicle, the vehicle (or the charger) needs to be smart enough to detect this and shutoff…fast. WiBotic charging hardware combined with WiBotic Commander software is able to detect minute trends between charge current, expected battery voltage dV/dt and dozens of other metrics we monitor to identify anomalies like this quickly. To do this accurately, we rely on our database of historical charge cycles that has millions of charging hours for comparison and analysis. Safe. Smart. Reliable. Wireless. www.wibotic.com

February might be the shortest month of the year, but that doesn’t mean we’re slowing down. In fact, we’re getting more done in less time! ?? Right now, the WiBotic team is working hard to get 1kW wireless charging systems out the door to customers. Scaling up production is exciting, but what really makes a difference isn’t just the hardware—it’s the experience that comes with it. We know that adopting new technology can feel daunting, and the last thing you need is to be left figuring it out alone. That’s why we do things differently: ? Hands-on support to make sure deployment is seamless ? Expert guidance to help customers optimize performance ? A team that’s always here when you need us (yes, real people who answer emails and calls!) Other companies might ship you a charger and call it a day, we’re here for the long haul. So while February may be short, we’re making every day count to ensure our customers get the best charging solutions AND the best support. We are thrilled to be part of the CubeRover? project, a NASA-funded initiative pushing the boundaries of lunar exploration. Alongside our incredible partners—Bosch Research, Astrobotic, University of Washington, and NASA Glenn Research Center—we’ve been working to develop an autonomous docking and charging system that keeps CubeRover powered up in the extreme conditions of the Moon. ?? With temperatures plunging to -150°C, abrasive lunar dust, and no GPS to rely on, designing a reliable charging solution is no small feat. But innovation thrives in challenge! Our work with Bosch and the broader team ensures CubeRover? can efficiently locate and dock with charging stations—critical for long-term lunar operations. ?? Check out Bosch’s deep dive into the project below We’re proud to be part of this mission, ensuring that future lunar robotics stay powered, autonomous, and ready for discovery. #LunarExploration #AutonomousCharging #CubeRover #WiBotic #SpaceTech #NASA
?? ?????????????? ????????: ??????????????????? & ???????????????????? ?????????????? At Bosch Research, we are bringing autonomous technology to the Moon. As part of a NASA-funded project, we are working with Astrobotic, WiBotic, the University of Washington, Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies, and NASA Glenn Research Center to develop GPS-free navigation and wireless charging for CubeRover?, a lightweight, modular exploration vehicle designed for lunar and planetary missions. ?? With no GPS available, CubeRover? relies on camera data, sensor fusion, and Wi-Fi fingerprinting to navigate precisely, even in harsh lunar conditions. Since it is too small for large solar panels, it recharges wirelessly from a lander, ensuring a stable energy supply while also generating heat to withstand freezing temperatures. The team, led by Vivek Jain, Head of Wireless Connectivity & Sensing at Bosch Research, is eager to see CubeRover? in action on the Moon, as navigating and charging autonomously in such an extreme environment will be a game-changer for space exploration. ?????????? ???????? ?????????? ?????? ?????????????? ????????: https://lnkd.in/eHsaHZ3u #BoschResearch #SpaceTech #CubeRover #WirelessCharging #AutonomousSystems
