At Global Seafood Alliance's Responsible Seafood Summit, co-hosted by?Seafood Scotland this week, Mike Kocsis opened with a powerful message: “We need to have a learner’s mindset and an attitude of continuous improvement.” This mindset is crucial as we rethink the future of supply chains. Physical infrastructure is often expensive, difficult to maintain, and fixed in place, leaving little room for agility. In contrast, digital infrastructure offers the flexibility needed to embody continuous improvement—it can be adapted, maintained, and fixed remotely, even from a continent away. This makes digital systems a cost-effective way to drive progress in areas like traceability and sustainability. By investing in digital infrastructure, supply chains can stay agile and responsive. If something isn’t perfect, it can be updated and refined without the high costs of physical changes. This adaptability is key to achieving better measurement, continuous improvement, and meeting sustainability goals across global supply chains. #Sustainability #Traceability #DigitalInnovation #SupplyChains #RSA #Wholechain #ResponsibleSeafoodSummit

Organized by the FAO of the United Nations, #WorldFoodDay is a global call to action, highlighting the need to ensure sustainable food systems and fight worldwide hunger. A key initiative of the day is to promote sustainable agricultural practices, reduce food waste, and ensure equitable access to nutritious food for all. We're proud to contribute to this mission by enabling interoperable, event-based traceability across supply chains. One recent example is the "Framework for the Interoperable Electronic Traceability of Cattle," which we co-developed with IDH and Rever Consulting | Consultoria em Sustentabilidade. This framework combats deforestation, cattle laundering, and information silos in Brazilian cattle supply chains, using GS1 US’s EPCIS standard to allow data sharing across systems, while giving stakeholders the freedom to choose their own traceability solutions. On this #WorldFoodDay, let’s acknowledge the importance of data interoperability in creating a transparent, resilient, and sustainable food system. With collaboration and innovation, we can build a future where food systems serve both people and the planet, ensuring safe and nutritious food for everyone. Happy #WorldFoodDay! ????? #Sustainability #Interoperability #FoodTraceability #GS1 #Wholechain #BetterFoodFuture #SupplyChainTransparency #FAO

Food safety, sustainability, and ethical sourcing are more critical than ever. Yet, without interoperability, sharing data across supply chain partners can feel impossible. Wholechain solves this by enabling different systems to “talk” to each other effortlessly. Think of it like email: whether you’re using Gmail or Outlook, you can exchange messages seamlessly because they follow the same protocols. Wholechain applies this same principle, ensuring systems work together smoothly across the supply chain. From regulatory compliance to meeting consumer demand, we provide the visibility you need when it matters most. Learn more about why #Interoperability is key. #Wholechain #traceability #foodsystems #sustainablesupplychains #BetterFoodFuture
