I am truly humbled by the amazing women who attended yesterday’s workshop- Holiday Harmony: Breaking Free from People-pleasing. Over-extending ourselves over the holidays is a challenge, especially for selfless, generous women. In a new article, I partnered with Integration and Lifestyle Coach Suki S. To dive deeper into the societal pressures that are put on women and mothers in particular in this season, and how to navigate the holidays with a renewed sense of well-being and presence. I had the opportunity to support some amazing women this weekend with a workshop focused on people pleasers in the holiday season. This Monday, I'd like to leave you with the giver's mantra: Self-care is not selfish. In a world that is overly plugged in and over-scheduled, I challenge you to use those digital tools to schedule one hour for yourself this week -- put it on your calendar and be specific i.e. go for a walk, read a book. And then add it to your to-do list so you have to cross it off. It deserves to be tangible. #mondaymindfulness #personaldevelopment #well-being #selfcare #coaching

I've had some interest in offering the in-person, personal development workshops that I host in a virtual capacity. These are topics like anti-striving, people-pleasing, boundary setting, core value work, confidence-building, etc. These are great opportunities to get a taste of personal development in a group setting vs. 1:1 coaching. If this is something you'd be interested in, please let me know what days/times work best for you!

As leaders continue to form teams with diverse experiences, tenure, styles, and ways of thinking, we move away from a one-size-fits-all approach to management. Authentic, effective leadership requires us to match our own behaviors to our intentions-- if we want to hire and retain people with different, nuanced ways of thinking and working, we have to model different, nuanced ways of supporting them. This article explores the Situational Leadership Model, providing real-world examples and practical insights to help leaders adapt their style to individual team members' needs. Learn how flexible leadership practices can boost employee satisfaction, reduce turnover, and drive organizational success in today's diverse workplace. #leadershipdevelopment #situationalleadership #leadershipcoaching #accountability https://lnkd.in/efHaqUUc

POST ELECTION GRIEF AND WORKPLACE SUPPORT I will be posting an article soon with more information about the unique grief that has emerged for some related to the 2024 US election. Ahead of that, I’d like to send a few quick notes to colleagues who are upset this week and leaders who are navigating the varied emotions of their employees. If you are sad: - Your emotions are valid. Take the time to process and care for yourself. It is better for your body and mind to have space to process so you can stitch yourself back together. Remember to eat. Wear comfy clothes. Don’t lose sight of your values. For leaders: - Humans have a primal need to be seen. You do not need to agree with someone to validate their experience. Hold space. Listen. Restate their feelings and ask how you can support them in this moment. Some employees need permission- say out loud that it’s ok to take personal days. Remember that, when we can help others feel safe cognitively, we are allowing them to use their executive functioning and problem-solving. Invalidating someone’s experience or pretending that the election didn’t happen at all when someone is hurting can do more damage and keep people in fight or flight. Remind people of your harassment free workplace policy and commitment to inclusion. This sets expectations of all workplace behaviors and communicates safety to those who are afraid. #electiongrief #politicsintheworkplace #humanleadership
