We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who joined us for our Annual Dinner. It was a truly inspiring event that celebrated mental health, recovery, and prevention. We were honored to recognize Rhiannon Whalen-Harris with the Shining Light Award for her extraordinary contributions to our community. Her dedication and passion make a significant impact. Vicky Hartzler was both surprised and humbled to receive the Special Appreciation Award for her exceptional leadership and guidance during her time as interim director. We concluded the evening on a high note, inspired by our keynote speaker, Stefanie Robinson from Hope Recovery Community. Thank you again to all who attended and made this event a success! #MentalHealthMatters #RecoveryMonth #SuicidePreventionMonth

Mental Health Matters! This September is National Suicide Prevention Month, and our team at the Mental Health & Recovery Board of Wayne and Holmes Counties was proud to show our support at the Orrville football game this past Friday. We’re grateful for the Red Rider community’s commitment to raising awareness about mental health. Let’s continue to break down the stigma and support those in need. We could not be more proud of our Red Rider community! #NationalSuicidePreventionMonth #MentalHealthMatters #RedRiders #WayneHolmesMHRB

We were honored to participate in OneEighty, Inc.'s 14th Annual Break the Cycle event on Saturday. This important event champions addiction recovery and reduces stigma surrounding substance use disorders. Our team distributed 150 doses of Narcan, a life-saving medication that can reverse opioid overdoses. By providing Narcan, we’re contributing to a safer community and supporting those in recovery. #BreakTheCycle #AddictionRecovery #MentalHealth #Narcan #OneEighty

Important update regarding the Mental Health & Recovery Board of Wayne and Holmes Counties Board meeting. Our next meeting, originally scheduled for Wednesday, June 26th at 5:30 pm, will now begin at 6:00 pm in the conference room of the board office located at 1985 Eagle Pass, Wooster, Ohio. Why the schedule change? Ohio law (§121.22(D)(2)) requires confidentiality during discussions related to audits. Therefore, the Board will use the originally scheduled 5:30 pm time for a closed session to review the recent audit by the Auditor of State's Office. What this means for you: The public cannot attend the 5:30 pm closed session. The regular Board meeting, open to the public, will now begin at 6:00 pm. We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to seeing you at the public meeting!
