Please join us in congratulating Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital - Bradford's August Distinguished Award Winner, Gina Kun! She promotes unification between departments by organizing meetings, meet n’ greets, assisting with orientation and raffles. Gina is not only the assistant to the hospital Administrator and Medical Director, she also takes on tasks of assisting with printing literature for a number of department managers, organizing/scheduling meetings for the doctors, updating call lists and covering breaks for the front desk. She makes sure the entire hospital knows who is here to assist. Gina does all this with a smile and would not hesitate to help someone if they needed help. Thank you Gina for all that you do!

Winnie Jn Baptiste was one of the nursing students from the UVI School of Nursing, who did their clinical rotations here in June. Here is what Winnie had to say about his experience at Bradford: “Benjamin Franklin once said, "Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn." The Whittier Rehabilitation Facility afforded me an opportunity by simply involving me, accepting me into their family. The chance was given not only to witness but to be engaged in patient care, therapeutic procedures, medication administration, basic life support and, of course, working alongside such a diverse team of individuals.”

In June Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital - Bradford hosted nine amazing nursing students from the University of the Virgin Islands School of Nursing, Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix. The students graciously sent us a document with their thank you statements. Kanicia Hendricks (pictured) said: “I had the opportunity to sharpen my clinical skills in areas such as venipuncture, trach care, and respiratory therapy. Additionally, I gained valuable experience in wound care management, patient assessment, and effective communication with multidisciplinary teams.” Stay tuned for more from the students!

Please join us in congratulating Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital - Bradford’s September Distinguished Service Award Winner, Pharmacist, Allie Nigro! Allie came to us in 2015 and quickly emerged as a conscientious, highly competent, and self-motivated solution seeker. She is clear-headed, rational, and largely unflappable- and even when flapped she remains stalwart and focused. Allie is experienced and well versed in the “Whittier Way”, she works independently to anticipate potential issues before they become problems, saving us time, aggravation and money every single month. Whether conferring with a provider, coordinating with nursing staff, or working with tech support to address an issue, Allie is one of our unsung heroes and this recognition is way overdue. She truly is Allie-zander the Great! Thank you for all you do Allie!
