Over 20 years ago, discussions surfaced on turning Georgia Highway 27 into a 4-lane highway. While Will Harris wasn't excited about the increased traffic, his biggest concern was being able to move livestock back and forth across the road. The land on the East and West sides of the road have been in the Harris family since before there was a fence law. It took a lot of patience and tenacity, but the result was a 300 foot tunnel, which allows our livestock to continue to graze our farm as they have for generations.

Our family farm focuses on regenerative land management, humane animal husbandry, and revitalizing our rural community.
关于我们
White Oak Pastures is a six generation family farm in the rural town of Bluffton, Georgia. We practice what we call radically traditional farming. Every day, we butcher meat from animals raised in a regenerative manner using humane animal management practices. This is no easy task, but it is our passion. To operate our vertically integrated, zero-waste model, it takes 165+ caring people working together to accomplish a common goal: taking care of our land, our livestock, and our rural community.

Market consolidation is something all consumers should know about. And, it’s gotten so much worse in the last 30 years. Something as vital as our food should not be so centralized to so few companies. We are hopeful there will be more and more farms serving their local market to form a more safe and resilient food system.

When Will Harris transitioned the way he was farming over 30 years ago, he never anticipated the wonderful community that would result from these changes. In 2014, Will purchased the old, dilapidated Herman Bass Store, located in downtown Bluffton. Mr. Bass served the Bluffton community for decades, but closed down his store in the late 1960's due to the economic decline of Bluffton and so many other rural towns like it. In the Fall of 2016, we were excited to reopen its doors to serve customers again. Today, our store sees thousands of guests from all over the world. It's a blessing to have a place to celebrate all of the hard work that happens on our farm, and we hope you'll consider coming to visit us one day soon!
