International Women’s Day and White Castle have a lot in common – we’ve both been around for over 100 years and are committed to the advancement of women and the celebration of their achievements. We’re taking a moment to recognize some of the incredible women of White Castle and honor the accomplishments of women everywhere. This week, our White Castle team had the honor of volunteering with Seeds of Caring at their annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service event in Columbus and Indianapolis, where children participated in different service activities to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and make a difference in their communities. From assembling cleaning kits to making “Use Your Voice” posters, children learned how acts of service and Dr. King’s legacy are intertwined – and how to continue his message year-round. This year marked our 5th year sponsoring this event in Columbus, and our 2nd year in Indianapolis. Thank you, Seeds of Caring, for creating meaningful volunteer opportunities for children and bringing us all together to honor Dr. King's legacy through action. We can’t wait for next year!??

Shout out to our amazing Human Resource team, who recently enjoyed an inspiring day volunteering with Columbus Humane! They donated cozy towels and blankets for the furry friends, crafted treats and toys to bring joy to the animals, and spent time with some of the adorable residents, including Revo and Aliko. Huge thanks to Columbus Humane for the amazing work you do every day for our animal friends. We encourage everyone to join us in supporting this wonderful cause by donating items, funds, or time. This past weekend, the 44th annual Columbus Marathon and Half Marathon brought over 13,500 runners together, raising nearly $1 million for Nationwide Children's Hospital. It’s an incredible event that holds a special place in the hearts of everyone involved. We decided to raise the stakes with a unique challenge for all the runners: complete the full or half marathon dressed in a White Castle Slider Box Costume. The prize, you ask? A free Crave Case every month for an entire year, plus a complementary pair of shoes from #SecondSoleColumbus! Cort Hamilton, Assistant Principal at Hilliard Bradley High School, took up the challenge and truly followed his Crave! ????♂? A huge congratulations to Cort and to everyone who ran this weekend, including our very own Slider Queen, Lisa Ingram! ?? #ColumbusMarathon

Songs were sung, hikes were had, and so many memories were made! Recently, our #whitecastleteam had the opportunity to spend the day at Camp Oty’okwa for Big Brothers Big Sisters Latino Week, where we toured the campgrounds, made meaningful connections with campers, and led an activity focused on spreading kindness. Using non-toxic paints, campers and #whitecastleteam members alike painted rocks with beautiful images and words of encouragement to place throughout the camp – spurring excitement and happiness with every glance! Following this activity, we joined the campers in a traditional camp lunch (which wouldn’t be complete without the lunch songs), played board games, and got a peek into the many activities campers participate in during their stay (we’re still jealous of the science room!). Thank you, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio, for having us – This is one of our favorite annual events, and we can’t wait to do it again next year!
