Today, we honor?Justin "JP", a true warrior whose journey inspires us all. At just 20 years old, JP joined the U.S. Army, answering the call to serve and protect. As a combat engineer deployed to Afghanistan, he faced the unimaginable task of locating and disarming IEDs. In 2011, his life changed forever when a 200lb IED struck his truck, leaving him in a coma for six weeks and with 26 life-altering injuries, including the loss of both legs. But JP’s story didn’t end there. Through faith, determination, and his motto,?“?????????? ???????? ????, ?????????? ??????????????????,”?he’s become a beacon of hope. As an inspirational speaker, singer, and fierce competitor, JP has touched countless lives, sharing his story of resilience and post-traumatic growth. This Thanksgiving season, as we reflect on gratitude and blessings, let’s not forget the heroes who’ve sacrificed so much for your freedom—heroes like US Army, Sergeant Steve, one of the 30 warriors currently on our waiting list. Steve’s story is a powerful reminder of the cost of service. Deployed to Iraq in 2008-09 and Afghanistan in 2011, his convoy was ambushed just one month before returning home. Hit by an RPG (rocket-propelled grenade) and 12 rounds to his chest and arms, Steve was medevaced and died twice before making it to San Antonio for treatment. (Yes, you read that right. He died TWICE!) Steve’s injuries are life-altering: ?? A traumatic brain injury (TBI), a stroke, and a lobectomy ?? Loss of two-thirds of his liver ?? Broken vertebrae and a bruised lower lumbar ?? Spinal damage that left him paralyzed in 2023 Despite enduring unimaginable pain, Steve remains a fighter. Living on 3 acres in rural Florida with his wife (also an Army veteran), Steve dreams of getting outside, moving freely, and enjoying the simplest pleasures of life. But the?manual and outdated equipment he’s been provided fails him daily.?He needs a?custom-fit wheelchair to?allow him to navigate uneven terrain—giving him back the freedom he’s earned. Think about that for a moment. All he wants is to go outside—something you can probably do the moment you finish reading this post. ?????????????? ??????’?? ????????.?This Thanksgiving, as we give thanks for our blessings, let’s honor the sacrifices of heroes like Sergeant Steve by giving back. Now, think about this: our heroes—veterans and first responders injured in the line of duty—depend on their wheelchairs for mobility. For our heroes, a single, standard wheelchair often limits their ability to?live life fully—to explore, compete, or even manage daily tasks with ease. We provide?????????????-?????? ???????????????? s?????????????????tailored to meet the unique needs of our warriors. From lightweight, titanium chairs for daily living to?adaptive sports chairs?for hitting the basketball or pickleball court, or?outdoor chairs?for enjoying trails and nature, these wheelchairs allow them to regain their freedom and pursue their dreams. The average cost of a custom-fit wheelchair is?$8,000 to $10,000, about the price of a few pairs of designer shoes.
