SO much trash talking! No Man Left Behind-AT HOME! We were honored to present United States Navy veteran Tiffany C. with a daily wheelchair at the San Antonio Spurs practice facility with their adaptive basketball team lead by Head Coach Jackson and Asst. Coach Merritt! Listen and hear her cane hitting the floor as she is coming up to receive her wheelchair. She can barely walk due to multiple injuries and complications and was denied a wheelchair bc, “I’m still ambulatory they told me”. Meaning she can walk. So… Wheelchairs for Warriors opted to do the right thing and serve her NOW, so she doesn’t get worse and doesn’t have to struggle and maybe slow the progression of her ailments. “I can actually take my son to the zoo now”, said Tiffany through tears. This entire endeavor was made possible by the Texas Veterans Commission !!!! Want to Join the Mission and help us serve those who served us? We have eleven more waiting!! Call our founder, Crystal Lee Laramore , at 936-777-4548! #tvc #wheelchairsforwarriors #freedomisntfree #nomanleftbehind #spurs #spursonthree Jay Mincks Myrna Trevino Seth Alford Jon Wageman JP Lane Nate Olsen, MBA John's Killer Protein Pam DeBlasio Brett Stilley Tina Phelipot

Warning, you will need the box of tissues. Note: When you join the mission with WFW you serve heroes like Frank! My Thinking Chair My Thinking Chair took me to some fond memories of my mom. I wrote this for the Marine Mothers Organization a few years ago. Reflections of an Ex-Marine I would like to share a story about a Marine mom. Mine. When I joined the Marines on 1/1/64 she was beaming with pride, as was I. My mom was then a young mid-forties. She remained that way for the next year and a half as I continued my training. Knowing that I was in Nuclear, Biological and Chemical warfare school didn't bother her much. She was a proud Marine Mother. The six months I spent in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba concerned her a little, after all it hadn't been that long since the Bay of Pigs, but she remained young and proud. Then I got my orders to be shipped off to a faraway place called Vietnam. Neither of us knew much about this place except for what we heard on the news. The war (war?) was escalating, and they needed some young men to help defeat the communist scourge. I eagerly and proudly went, and my mom hesitantly but quietly watched me board the plane. I was not her only son, just the one going off to war. (war?) She was still young. The year past quickly. I wrote her as often as possible hoping she would not worry about me. I wrote to her of the humorous things, the lighthearted stories of the young men and women I was proud to serve with. Oh what stories we could tell. I will not get into the real stories for they are not pleasant to write or think about. When I got my orders to return to "The World" my first thoughts were of my mom and I was eager to see her so she would know that her Marine was fine. I met a fine gentleman on the plane who drove me to the factory where my parents worked. I arrived just before quitting time and found my dad as he was punching out to go home. That was the only time I remember him hugging me. He introduced me to all his coworkers as his Marine son. He must have been a proud Marine dad. :^) We walked out to the car where my mom was waiting, unaware that I was there. I opened the passenger side door and said, "Move over lady" She instantly had me in a bear hug repeating "my son, my son," and crying. The cry of relief of a Marine mother. And that's when I noticed something was different. She had aged. In the year I had been away she had gained worry wrinkles and gray hair. She was no longer young. She had watched every newscast and read every paper hoping, on one hand, to see her sons face and fearing, on the other, that she might. The wondering, the worrying, the sleepless nights, and the war (war?) had taken her youth. She was now old, but still a proud Marine Mom. ex Cpl. ? Frank L. [email protected] U.S.M.C 1964/1970

How on earth did this baby turn 30? Meet Sevanah Blackwell-Pena, our rock at WFW! She has been with us since the beginning, learning how to be the best Administrative Assistant possible, while having a baby, managing her little family and all of us at the same time! She has grown into a part time bookkeeper, a fantastic graphic designer, and all around "Hey Sevanah, can you help us ... " kind of employee! She NEVER says she cannot do it. She always says, "OK!" or "I'm on it"! (Well except for some of those sleep-deprived moments that come with having a new born/toddler!) She has grown from a hippie chick to a soulful woman before our eyes and our warriors are blessed to have her in their corner. She is the one who puts together all of the bios for our warriors, making sure to convey their story... their whole story... to the world! When you see any marketing materials from WFW, you can be rest assured, Sevanah most like did that! When we fly somewhere and also have a place to sleep, she did that too. She does SO much, we simply cannot list it here! From her sweet spirit to her dedication to our warriors, her soul shines on us all! Happy Birthday Chica from your Warrior Tribe! We love you! (NO! You cannot have her!)
