We continue to hear about the growth in donor advised funds (DAFs), but are we talking enough about how they're changing philanthropy? According to The Chronicle of Philanthropy 2024 Trends piece, DAFs are showing up as part of corporate benefit packages and even in wedding gift registries. As we continue to see calls for change in the sector to level out the power dynamics of the funder/grantee relationship, we're curious how this trend might play out in the coming years. What about you? Share with us in the comments how you're leveraging DAFs for impact. #philanthropymatters #dafs

At the WF Fund, we value the place of chaplains in civil society, and particularly on campuses. Chaplains can provide support, comfort, and guidance to help students navigate challenges. The power of chaplains is that they can... ?? Help students explore and honor their own identities ?? Create meaningful community ?? Help students understand their purpose As we continue to see an increasingly diverse population in our country, in every sense of the word, we also need to make sure that we have diversity in chaplaincy programs to include Muslim, Christians, Jewish, and more. #chaplaincy

While public trust in nonprofit organizations has wavered in the past few years, a new report, commissioned by the Walton Family Foundation, shows that more than 70% of Americans belief that the philanthropic community (which includes nonprofits) should lead the way in tackling these key challenges for today's society: ? Improving the nation’s education system ? Protecting vital water resources ? Fostering a sense of belonging for all people We're curious, how does your organization support these key challenges? #philanthropymatters

New research from the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy provides some insights to help us understand giving during and following the pandemic. Using data from the Philanthropy Panel Study, the study found some key insights including: ? The gap between pre-pandemic frequent donors and less frequent donors lessened, presenting a pivotal moment for new and occasional donors. ? Giving to religious congregations, in both rates and amounts, increased with the duration of the shutdowns. ? The uneven impact of the pandemic on U.S. households further highlights a need for nonprofits to understand how lives have been shaped and will continue to be changed by these adversities. Like many studies before, this new research supports the belief that generosity endures in times of crisis. #generositymatters

We appreciate the continued work of Dr. Shariq Siddiqui and his team at the Muslim Philanthropy Initiative to deepen the understanding of Muslim philanthropy. This newest paper, written in partnership with Micah Hughes, looks across disciplines to create shared language. As we seek to build bridges between Muslim Americans and the philanthropic community with our flagship project, Inspired Generosity, we recognize the importance of shared language. Common language helps brings understanding to the research that informs the sector, and it creates opportunities for deeper dialogue that everyone can participate with. #languagematters #philanthropymatters

IMAN Atlanta hosted an event at the Inspired Generosity showcase location over the weekend. The room was filled with over 100 leaders from the Atlanta community who came to experience stories of generosity. A grantee partner of the WF Fund, the Inner-City Muslim Action Network (IMAN) "fosters health, wellness and healing in the inner-city by organizing for social change, cultivating the arts, and operating a holistic health center" in both Atlanta and Chicago. Their work touches thousands of people every year. We appreciate the vital work that IMAN does and were excited to have them enjoy Inspired Generosity in Atlanta. https://lnkd.in/ds-iRkA
