WeTheChange: Women Leading Business for Good WeTheChange is a group of women* CEOs of Certified B Corporations and other purpose-driven organizations brought together by a collaborative declaration. We are a community spanning a broad spectrum of gender identities, including cis-gender, transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming leaders in business. We acknowledge intersectionality and the reality that we need to change systems and structures that marginalize certain identities. WeTheChange began with a clarion call to all B Corp women CEOs asking, “What can we do together that none of us can do alone?” With the generous support and backing of Eileen Fisher, CEO of EILEEN FISHER, and recognizing the unique and powerful role that B Corp women CEOs play in creating a more just society, WeTheChange was founded in 2018 by Sara Schley, CEO of Seed Systems, Rose Penelope Yee, CEO of Green Retirement, and Kim Coupounas, B Lab’s Global Ambassador and former CEO of GoLite. The leaders in WeTheChange are committed to creating a new economy in service to all, where women don’t need to fight for a seat at the table. This requires a new way of leading, so we are making our own table that’s radically inclusive and richly regenerative, and we're inviting you to join us. The values of WeTheChange are in harmony with the social and environmental practices embraced by the B Corp community of businesses who meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental sustainability.

    Join the WeTheChange Leadership Circle! We are recruiting for our Leadership Circle to better support our growing membership and evolving organization. If you are interested in joining, please take a few minutes to fill out a simple?application (linked in the comments)?and we’ll be excited to discuss the opportunity with you further. Two-year terms begin on April 1, 2025. Our?Leadership Circle?has been a core driver of this impact from the beginning. We’re excited to invite you to join us as we continue to build a sustainable and healthy membership organization. We are looking for individuals willing to take on one of the following roles: Governance Lead?- In this role, you would manage the contractor(s) and volunteers to develop and manage structures for collective governance and distributed leadership for WTC. Membership lead?- In this role, you would work with volunteers and stakeholders to coordinate the maintenance of a member program and identify member benefits and ongoing enhancements. Advocacy lead?- In this role, you would identify issues WTC should address, create resources, and manage advocacy volunteers. At-large?-?In this role, you would serve on at least one LC work group and/or support special initiatives to advance WTC strategic priorities. Read the?full descriptions of the Leadership Circle roles…?Terms are two years beginning April 1, 2025. Time commitment is approximately 5 hours/month.     ICYMI - Last week, we had an engaging member meeting to talk about navigating political anxieties with guest speakers from B Local Wisconsin. ?? Lisa Geason-Bauer, Trained B Consultant from Evolution Marketing, A Certified B Corp shared strategies to build resilience in business and nonprofit spaces, emphasizing mental well-being, setting boundaries, and creating safe spaces for engagement. ?? Kimberly Flood, ICF-PCC from Venture Forward discussed how people perceive situations differently, referencing cognitive biases like the Dunning-Kruger effect and the Lake Wobegon effect. She encouraged us to practice empathy, intellectual humility, and to recognize the difference between resilience and self-care as foundations for a sustained sense of self. ?? August M. Ball from Cream City Conservation shared an inspiring poem and reflected on the nature of “safe vs. brave” spaces and the importance of sacred community.
