A half-century apart, yet connected by shared experiences. At the Westminster Public Schools Foundation annual alumni event, I had the pleasure of meeting Richard, a 1950 graduate of Westminster Public Schools. As a 2000 Westy grad, our conversation reminded us that age is just a number.

We are innovators here in WPS. As such, folks from all over the world want to know how we do Competency Based Education on such a scale. Jeni Gotto, Ed.D., Brian Kosena, Ed.D, Bridget Cahill Hagerman and a team of educators from across the district including Claudette Trujillo, Alison Mund, and Pete Raney along with some of the best teachers in the district welcomed colleagues from Missouri interested in learning more about WPS and our commitment to innovation. Today, our guests were treated to an orientation session, school visits to Metropolitan Arts Academy, and a teacher panel interview which illuminated our unique and effective approach to CBS. It was a fun day of sharing the great news about Westminster Public Schools and our commitment to personalized learning! #whereeducationispersonal

Westminster Public Schools high school and middle school counselors as well as members of the Future Center team got to work with the sheets today at Sheet Metal Workers Local 9. This has been a great opportunity to learn about apprenticeship opportunities for students who are considering working in the trades. Ryan McCoy, MA and Mario Ortiz were on hand to learn all about the exciting partnerships planned for WPS and jobs for the future. #whereeducationispersonal

WPS's Ryan McCoy, MA recently spoke at the FANUC America Corporation's professional connection to robotics jobs of the future. Hosted by Front Range Community College and our colleague Dr. Chris McGilvray, educators and industry professionals from across Colorado were introduced to the exciting world of Advanced Manufacturing and the incredible jobs of the future at our fingertips. Ryan also participated in a panel conversation with close to 100 folks in attendance. Metropolitan State University of Denver, Front Range, and Westminster Public Schools will be partnering to create meaningful advanced manufacturing training and credentialing opportunities for our next wave of professionals ready to lead the robotics industry right here across the Front Range! #whereeducationispersonal
