We just celebrated an exciting milestone at the Spanish Fork Recreation Center with a final beam ceremony, marking the completion of the building’s structure! This spacious, two-story center will bring so much to the community, including indoor and outdoor pools with lazy rivers, a modern fitness area, multi-use courts, an indoor track, a kids' play area, and even a senior center with a full kitchen. Designed with large windows to capture stunning mountain views, it’s becoming a vibrant space where everyone in Spanish Fork can connect, play, and unwind for years to come!

This week marks Construction Suicide Awareness Week, a critical time to address a pressing issue within our industry. With approximately 45.3 workers per 100,000 lost to suicide—significantly higher than the national average—there is an urgent need for increased support. In response to this, Construction Suicide Prevention Week was launched in 2020, coinciding with National Suicide Prevention Month in September. Starting this week, let’s come together to make a meaningful impact. By fostering a culture of understanding and compassion, we can create a warm and supportive environment where every employee knows they are not just valued, but truly cherished and essential. Westland Safety Minute: Scaffolding Safety Scaffolding is essential on construction sites, but strict safety measures are required to prevent accidents. Only trained and authorized workers should erect, dismantle, or use scaffolding, and a competent person must inspect it before each shift. This inspection ensures the scaffold is secure and free of defects, which should be immediately addressed if found. It’s vital to follow the manufacturer’s instructions, never exceed load capacities, and use guardrails and fall protection at heights of 10 feet or more. Clear the work platform of tripping hazards, avoid makeshift height adjustments, and maintain a safe distance from power lines. Additionally, scaffolds should be secured to structures, and proper access points like ladders or stairways must be used. By adhering to these guidelines, we can help ensure a safe and productive work environment for everyone. #westlandconstruction #westlandsafetyminute

Westland Construction is thrilled to partner with Beaver Valley Hospital and VCBO in the development of the Beaver Valley Hospital Wellness Center. On August 7th, we celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony, marking an exciting milestone for the Beaver, Utah community. This state-of-the-art Wellness Center is designed to promote active living and healthy lifestyles, featuring a competition pool, an activity pool with a children's play area and lazy river, and a gymnasium equipped for basketball, volleyball, and pickleball. Additional amenities include studio rooms for fitness classes, a weightlifting area, a party room, and an indoor track.
